Horror fiction that uses the trappings of analogue recordings. Fairly close to found footage in aesthetics, I suppose. No Through Road and Marble Hornets (both webseries you can watch on youtube) are two early examples of the genres, and both are found footage after all.

Fucking sucks. That's a job an artist could have done, adding much more value to those transition cards.

Just finished watching Late Night with the Devil (2023), absolutely brilliant movie, probably the first time I've seen the "analog horror" aesthetic pushed to such heights.

I'm less satisfied with the actual project, a batch of vegan Linzer cookies. Not sure what has gone wrong but the dough was really unwieldy and required to pretty much freeze it solid to be cut. Still, I managed to wrangle it into something passable, and the taste is great! I'll crack it next batch.

I spent the entire afternoon baking cookies, but honestly I think the best piece was dinner, a pretty little fillo pie with veggies and olives that I just kind of wolfed down!

Last night, at silly 'o clock in the evening, when I finally foundt it. Neophyte: Koplio's Story, the second installment in a small series of shareware games, and there it was: the puzzle I was stuck at because my english was too bad to possibly figure it out.

The final game of the list remained a mystery. There was very little I could remember of it - it was a demo, or possibly shareware, it was set in a temple, and I would recognize bits of it in two games I would then play later in my life, specifically Terranigma and Crusaders of Centy.

So, what's Pac-Guy 2 like? Well, it's... about as eclectic as the range of audio assets it lifts from. It's actually the second (third?) in a series that went on for some ten games, not really pac-man clones much. I kind of want to play them, they seem really quite weird!

The attract mode for Pac-Guy: Resurrection from the Pac-Pack, featuring ther synopsis for said game. It reads: "As Pac-Guy rises from the grave it is the start of a new series of pellet-gobbling games! Pac-Guy Resurrection features 12 "resurrected" levels from the original Pac-Guy plus one completely new level. Collect power-pellets and use them to blast nasties by pressing [Space Bar], then try to find the secret power ups on each level and get more shots".

I started searching Youtube, and eventually I found this very playlist. I had a name: Pac-Guy 2: Part 2: Pagoon. I should stress that Astral Entertainment was an american company, and Lucio Battisti an italian singer-songwriter. I so want to know the story behind this. Maybe it's just fate.

More than anything, I could remember a very, very catchy midi song that would stick to my brain for hours. My brain would add lyrics to the song, because it was a midi version of a song that had lyrics. Just the intrumental, haphazardly converted to a midi file... Of a song my mom would listen to.

Pac-Pack was supposed to be nothing more than a commercially sold package of a variable number of Pac-Man clones by a company known as Astral Entertainment. In this Pack lied the next game on my list, but my memories where too fuzzy to narrow it down even this far back then.

A bit more difficult to pin down was this visually disconcerting pac-man clone called 3D Maze Man: Amazing Adventures. Mostly interesting in how its mazes are actual distinct levels, which include, much to my chagrin, platforming, and the titular Maze Man propension for jumpscaring the player.
