It doesn’t reflect every contribution to the community (e.g. folks who are active in working groups or chat but not on GitHub), but it’s a start to try to visualize who the ROOST community actually is. community.roost.tools

We’re still refining our processes, but I think we went too long between releases! 😅 For a relatively minor update, there’s so much good stuff coming in Coop 1.1.0. And a ton from adopters using Coop in production, or first-time contributors. It’s exciting to see this community grow and develop. 😊

I wonder how hard it is to get an alternative app store running on these. Flathub could fill the desktop app ecosystem gap nicely; while there’s no Photoshop (yet!) there are plenty of true popular desktop apps used by millions of folks. 🤔

Just installed GNOME as my desktop driver and realized it was the 25th anniversary of the first time I'd done that This project has been doing quality work for so long, they deserve so much more stability. I know $$ are scarce but if you've got it please help them if you can.

Lots of people talking about 1password's complicity (which is good) Not enough talking about how DigitalOcean is somehow being even shittier

I know Geoff has been trying to raise this for months, to no avail.

Atop of this, DigitalOcean has ceased the monthly $50 payments they previously gave to GNOME and Flathub infrastructure. Apparently it is a more pressing matter for them to donate to a collection of scripts and configuration files than to contribute to the projects they’re built upon or to pay the writers and editors of their own publication.

Pixel 11 Pro here! Yes, make sure it works well for older/mid-range phones, but also please don’t forget to take advantage of the niceties of the high-end, most up to date phones, too? 😅 It’s discouraging when apps feel like they cater to the lowest common denominator.
