Confidential memo reveals how LAFD tried shielding Mayor Bass from fire fallout
The LAFD issued a confidential memo detailing plans to protect Mayor Karen Bass and others from 'reputational harm' in connection with the city’s handling of the Palisades fire, records show.

Lede & Co is primarily an entertainment focused PR firm. If they wrote it, it's not clear to me whether they understand the obligations of a government to its citizens are different than a celebrity to fans. LAFD hired them, not Bass.

LA folks: what do you think of the @latimes.com reporting on whether Mayor Bass's office directed changes to LAFD's after action report? Something feels fishy to me, as if it's a political hit job. It doesn't make sense to me that Bass, who was critical of the LAFD Chief...

TrumpRx launched tonight. You can use it to search for certain brand name drugs, see the TrumpRx price, and get a coupon, which you can print or send to your phone via QR code to bring to a pharmacy. So far it only features the drugs with a deal negotiated between the Trump admin and Big Pharma.

I spent the last year writing a book about the ridiculous demands of what it means to be masculine. But a guy who takes care of people who served our country, asks a woman “are you ok?” When she is in distress and looks out for his vulnerable neighbors seems like a pretty good role model for a man.

If you have Medicaid, your state may begin covering Wegovy in May. Many Medicare Advantage plans will begin covering it in July. 6/ Let me know what questions you have about getting the pill and I'll try to answer them.

Pro tip don't use Ro. They charge $45 for first month for the Wegovy pill then $145 a month after to "manage" your Wegovy. Scam. Basically if you use Ro for anything you're paying for marketing 4/

For WW it's difficult to find the price but looks like it might be $25/month for 3 months then $74/month for 9 months under a 12-month plan. -Ro =super expensive at $45/month then $145/month after 3/

NEWS: The Wegovy pill (Ozempic for weight loss) is now available. If you've been hesitant to try a GLP-1 medication out of fear of the injection, the pill may be a great option for you. Plus it's way cheaper than the shots at $149/month (up to $299 for the highest). 🧵 for best options:

Loved the concept of the "reverse salient" from @emollick.bsky.social - the step(s) in a process that hold the system back from being faster or more efficient. These weaknesses are often the most difficult to change, but once a tech/regulatory advancement happens, the whole system leaps forward
