Caseiokey @caseiokey.bsky.social · 03/10/2026AUTHOR FISCHER EXPLAINS how Hieronymus Bosch’s St.Anthony is based on the Vitas Patrum. It mentions Satan’s effort to tempt the saint with a silver dish and then with a quantity of gold (Ch.11+12): the woman with the serpentine tail offers a silver dish to a nun; gold takes the form of a goblet. 020

Caseiokey @caseiokey.bsky.social · 28/09/2026BOSCH IS KNOWN FOR MIXING IDEAS, the Garden’s enigmatic mid panel is just that. Prof.Vandenbroeck’s suggestion of it being based on the medieval Grail idea, alluding of an earthly & heavenly paradise, makes sense: the Towers scene reflects Genesis’ paradise with 4 rivers/regions. 010

Caseiokey @caseiokey.bsky.social · 27/09/2026A STARLING POT FOR MEN is what Hieronymus Bosch painted on several of his works ~1500AD. The real pots were used to seduce Starlings to nestle. Young birds ready to take flight were then taken out from a side hole. They ended in a pie or in soup. Inset: a real pot from the castle Slot Loevestein. 120

Caseiokey @caseiokey.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Why does a Duck feed person? *It shows the infantile state of people in the Love Garden, being dependent on others to being fed. *Maybe it’s also a link hinting at the <END> (a Dutch word that also meant Duck). Caseiokey @caseiokey.bsky.social · 26/09/2026In my opinion, the soldiers that arrested Christ in the night in Gethsemane, are burned in a giant version of the very lantern they must have carried.
