The "social contagion" thing drives me screaming angry. When I was young I had no clue trans ppl existed. I'd never met anyone trans. I saw cruel caricatures in pop culture occasionally. When I realized trans was a thing someone could be, it hit like a lightning bolt. My life felt newly possible.

After Eden Knight committed suicide, she was buried and memorialized by her family as a "son", since her cisgender father, Fahad Ibrahim Alshathri, had her kidnapped out of the United States to Saudi Arabia and forcibly detransitioned. How would that be recorded in suicide stats for trans people? 🔆
