Jey Pawlik 🏳️‍⚧️ @ Nuit Blanche 12 Hours Comics Event! @jpawlik.com · 23/09/2026

I was commissioned by @filthyfigments.bsky.social to draw up a BRAND NEW RSS COMIC! With all the Tapas news, I thought this would be the perfect time to post the full comic. This is an up-to-date comic with what I'm using, how I'm using it, and how you can too! #Comic #RSS #Webcomic #Art

Digitally drawn comic with black choppy lines and a purple tone over the colours. The comic is set in space with Jey, a white nonbinary person with short black hair and a chubby build; Ember, a chubby blond white woman with goggles on her head and two heart shaped pigtails; Pomona, a thin black woman with dark purple hair wrapped up in a heart-shaped bun and then in a braid from that. The three of them are sitting in a space ship, all looking at their hologram tablets. Jey says "Hell yeah, that new comic on Filthy Figments" just updated!" Ember looks surprised and asks "WHAA?! How'd you know that? I didn't see it yet!" Pomona responds "Yeah, what's up? I don't see any posts about it on socials." Jey points to their hologram tablet and says "Oh I got the notification on my RSS reader as soon as the page went up!" Ember looks confused and asks "R-what-what?" and Pomona says "Sounds sexy, do tell~" Jey explains "RSS, or Really Simple Syndication", is an update feed for a website. Every time the site publishes a blog post, comic page, or anything else, that feed is updated. Pomona and Ember then ask "Okay cool, but how do we access that feed? I'm no hacker or anything!" Jey points up to the URL of the feed and says "It's really simple~ heh" All you need is: the feed url from the site, usually a button or a link (ie. filthyfigments.com/comic/feed) and a feed reader! Pomona asks "Do you have any sexy ready recs, Jey? ❤️" Jey responds excitedly with "Oh, I sure do! I've tried a whole bunch out, and every reader is a little different so try out a few to see what fits you best." Here's a few I've tried: Feedbro Feedbin (paid, but worth it) Feedly (was good but got into AI) Thunderbird Ukagaka Ghosts (the most fun) Jey presents these to Ember and Pomona and says "I like Feedbro the best for my needs~"

Copy the link and add it to your reader of choice: The image shows a mouse copying the url filthyfigments.com/comic/feed and pasting it into the feed reader, which then turns in to a feed of posts and images for the user. The feed shows blog posts, subscription posts, and image posts by people on their own websites, blogs and a tumblr. Jey shows the finished feed off and says "And VOILA! You've got a feed of JUST the sites you add." Pomona grins and says "Ohh, it looks just like a social media feed~" Ember excitedly clasps her hands together and asks "But-- without algorithms?!" Jey replies with a cheeky little grin "You got it! Your feed reader wont' ever give you posts from sites you don't follow, it'll always be in chronological order and WITHOUT ADS!" Ember throws her arms up in complete shock saying "NO ADS?! Are you serious? SIGN ME UP!" The three are sitting together on the space ship again with their hologram tablets. Ember excitedly says "Hey, I got the update ❤️" Pomona sits back satisfied saying "Ahh RSS is bliss~" A comic by Jey Pawlik jpawlik.com for filthyfigments.com using the site's mascots Ember and Pomona.

FYI, from Toocheke. They added a Tapas migration feature.

A screenshot of an email that says

Import Your Tapas.io Comics Into WordPress
You may have seen the news about Tapas shutting down. If you or anyone you know publish there, you’re probably wondering what happens to all of your comics and years of work.

We’ve just added a new import feature to Toocheke Companion (available in version 2.23+) that can move an entire Tapas series into WordPress for you — including episodes, images, thumbnails, and original publish dates.

It keeps everything in order, so you don’t have to manually copy and paste hundreds of pages.

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

I’m so happy with how the glaze came out on my coelacanth dish! I was afraid I’d made a mess of it and it would be a disaster but it came out better than I hoped. I want to make more large fish dishes!

Close up on the scales. The glaze is a dark metallic color with a mottled blue texture.

my partner's gonna be at the Halifax Crafter's Society this weekend selling the most jaw-droppingly beautiful artisan dice you've ever seen!!!! 👀 ✨ we've got large d20s, spin-downs, rounded d6s, entire TTRPG sets, earrings, keychains, and baskets of assorted singles! ✨ [ #resincraft #dice 🎲]

a white porcelain geode d20 dice, the inside is a shimmering blue and it has gold highlights. the 20 symbol is a moth with a wizard hat, and all the numbers are painted gold

an out of focus diamond shaped dice in the foreground, and an in-focus d20 in the background. Both are designed to look like an arcade carpet, black with glitter and stars. Their numbers are inked with glow in the dark paint

Dice set inspired by Expedition 33, a black inky swirl within a white dice, with real rose petals inside. There is a centre-most d20, and several variations of TTRPG dice scattered around it, including rounded d6. They are all painted with gold ink
