I’m glad to hear that Cymbalta worked for your dad, quitting smoking is the goal! However, it’s important to remember that no one size fits all for quitting smoking, & individuals should have the right to choose what works best for them. For many, vapes are an effective option.

According to the CDC National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), here are the most commonly used smoking cessation interventions. The "effectiveness" of an intervention depends on (a) "efficacy" and (b) "popularity" (use). If something is efficacious, but that no one uses it, it is not "effective."

Another study demonstrating that adult smokers prefer flavours in their vape products. Banning #vape and #nicotinepouch flavours reduces choice in adult consumers and can lead many back to smoking, which is orders of magnitude more harmful, not to mention burdensome on the #publichealth sector

I quit smoking in 2009 thanks to Swedish Snus, a decision which I firmly believe saved my life. I founded CanTHR because misinformation and bad policy making of many govts (including Canada) makes it increasingly harder to switch to reduced-risk alternatives & that needs to change.

Nicotine products exist on a spectrum, and it is important that policies reflect this. Sweden uses a sliding scale model for alcohol, in which stronger products carry higher taxes and advertising restrictions. A similar model could be used for #tobaccoharmreduction #vapes #thr #nicotinepouch #ecig

After a week in London attending #tobaccoharmreduction conferences, I sadly have to discard my #nicotinepouches due to Health Canada’s misguided approach to #thr. Despite having approx 0.1% the risk of cigarette smoking, Canada chooses to punish those who choose to use safer alternatives.
