Day 4 of kitty integration with parental supervision. Ziggy follows reggie everywhere. I think she wants to play but her way of showing it.... running up to reggie and stopping 4 inches away isnt convincing reggie. 🤣 Still hissing and growling but no flying fur. So far, so good. #minterland

#minterland great news! Ziggy and reggie met without screens today for about 2 hours. Growls and hisses but no flying fur. Sat on the deck and watched ziggy wiggle butt and run up to reggie. She stops short of reggie and stares at her. Reggie hisses and growls. This is great progress.

The first coat of colors for my house. Top center is white trim, the two blacks are hopefully a close match to the appliances, purple for the dining room wall, sage green for the bedrooms and bathrooms?, very light purple for the living room and hallways, dark green for lower kitchen cabinets.

Day 2 of feeding face 2 face with the screen in btwn. Both cats have been home for a month. Ziggy likes to attack the screen. Reggie will growl and slap back. Tails are not fully floofed during these instances. There is hope. I sleep in the basement with ziggy alternating nights. #minterland

I had a weird dream last night: I was in the usaf again even though I retired from that 20 years ago. I was on a base and we were being attacked by aliens that could shapeshift. We were escorting children to a safe place. One alien turned into a male msgt. When he was discovered he disappeared.

Resetting... gave ziggy a gabapentin this morning. Brought her upstairs with the screens covered. The one time Reggie was near the curtain, ziggy could tell. I fed her some gravy treat. No hissing or growling. She spent the day in and out on the catio & supervised me while I mowed. #minterland

Ziggy has been spayed. Of course, when I went to check her incision, she jumped off the island and charged the screen where Reggie was sitting and the onesie came off. This pic is from thurs with her onesie on. Keeping an eye on her to see if she licks her incision. ##minterland

Made stuffed shells for dinner. This was a half batch, which is still too much for one person. Ugh. One day I'll learn how to make smaller meals. Stuffed with Italian sweet sausage, ricotta and mascarpone and some mozzarella. Used orange and white sauces from quintosapore in Italy. Yuummmmy.

I've ordered 3 cat screens for 3 doorways in my house. 1. ziggy's room 2. The doorway leading from the kitchen to the computer room 3. The opening from the entryway into the kitchen. Ziggy's room screen will let me keep her door open at night. The other 2 screens are downstairs on the main level.

When I put ziggy on the deck they faced off and ziggy charged the glass to get at Reggie. 😱 along with ziggy hissing and growling and floofy tail. Then Reggie growled and stared at her. Once the barriers were up there was less hissing from ziggy and she explored the deck. #minterland

It took Reggie forever to settle on the deck for her evening nap but she finally did it. This allowed me to let ziggy out to explore the house for about 35 minutes. When Reggie wanted in, I scooped up ziggy and opened the slider. She hissed a few times but no floofy tail. #minterland
