AI vision of my new retirement house. the garage is on the right, no grass. Think crazy english garden. The gable on the left is actually the left side of the house, AI wasn't cooperating. :)

House is craftsman style with a porch in sage green board and batten on the front with cedar accents at the gables. The rest of the house will be regular siding. The shingles under the gable on the right will be slightly darker green color.

AI version of the back of the house. Lots of windows. front is single story with walkout basement. 1800 sf. The plan is if I need adult supervision later, I have room to get somebody to live with me. Basement will be self sustaining- own kitchen and laundry room.

If the real thing is half as good as this, I will be happy.

Day 4 of kitty integration with parental supervision. Ziggy follows reggie everywhere. I think she wants to play but her way of showing it.... running up to reggie and stopping 4 inches away isnt convincing reggie. 🤣 Still hissing and growling but no flying fur. So far, so good. #minterland

#minterland great news! Ziggy and reggie met without screens today for about 2 hours. Growls and hisses but no flying fur. Sat on the deck and watched ziggy wiggle butt and run up to reggie. She stops short of reggie and stares at her. Reggie hisses and growls. This is great progress.

The first coat of colors for my house. Top center is white trim, the two blacks are hopefully a close match to the appliances, purple for the dining room wall, sage green for the bedrooms and bathrooms?, very light purple for the living room and hallways, dark green for lower kitchen cabinets.

Then thought about the front and decided no grass there either and a tunnel from the deck/catio to the porch/catio that will have a daybed swing. The front yard will be the same as the back but with a dragon water feature. Pretty sure I will be poor once this is done. ##minterland

You can see ziggy is more interested in reggie. Watching her eat. She went to the basement door and was contemplating a screen attack while reggie was still eating. I had to say her name to distract her so reggie could finish.

Day 2 of feeding face 2 face with the screen in btwn. Both cats have been home for a month. Ziggy likes to attack the screen. Reggie will growl and slap back. Tails are not fully floofed during these instances. There is hope. I sleep in the basement with ziggy alternating nights. #minterland

My son had to catch her so she wouldn't chase after Reggie, my other cat. He was cat sitting. Ziggy is the unexpected new addition and has not been integrated yet. Yesterday, Reggie and ziggy were eating within eyesight of each other. Later ziggy launched herself at the screen to get to reggie.

Pre-retreat fun with my kid. We hiked the Tsankawi Loop as part of the Bandelier National Monument NM. It was 1.5 miles and kicked my out of shape butt. It was so much fun! Sat/sun in Taos before heading to ghost ranch on Monday. #minterland

over 6 feet high. Reggie is ensconced on the second floor and ziggy is on the first floor. He will have them swap spaces sometime during the 5 weeks I'm gone. Ziggy has already checked out the TV to make sure it's on the wall correctly.... 🤣🤣

Resetting... gave ziggy a gabapentin this morning. Brought her upstairs with the screens covered. The one time Reggie was near the curtain, ziggy could tell. I fed her some gravy treat. No hissing or growling. She spent the day in and out on the catio & supervised me while I mowed. #minterland

Ziggy has been spayed. Of course, when I went to check her incision, she jumped off the island and charged the screen where Reggie was sitting and the onesie came off. This pic is from thurs with her onesie on. Keeping an eye on her to see if she licks her incision. ##minterland

Yes! I put them up yesterday. Then ziggy went into heat. Ugh. Today was a vet appt. The vet doesn't think she's pregnant right now so we're waiting for the blood test results and getting her in within the next 2 weeks. #minterland

Made stuffed shells for dinner. This was a half batch, which is still too much for one person. Ugh. One day I'll learn how to make smaller meals. Stuffed with Italian sweet sausage, ricotta and mascarpone and some mozzarella. Used orange and white sauces from quintosapore in Italy. Yuummmmy.

the basement if I open the door for her. She will also be able to go into the garage to do her "inspections", which she likes to do about 5-10 times a day. Both cats will be able to access their own food/water bowls and litter boxes. I can roam all spaces using the zipper. 💚💜🤣🤣 #Minterland

When I put ziggy on the deck they faced off and ziggy charged the glass to get at Reggie. 😱 along with ziggy hissing and growling and floofy tail. Then Reggie growled and stared at her. Once the barriers were up there was less hissing from ziggy and she explored the deck. #minterland

I took her upstairs to her room and watched her finish her dinner. She then had to lay on me for food coma nap. Afterwards she played with her wand toy for about an hour. I gave her treats so I could escape the room. Tomorrow I'm going to put her on the deck w/ Reggie inside

The heated floors are the best thing ever. Getting up in the morning, I usually find Reggie like this. She loves the floor when it's heated at 92 degrees.

Reggie trying to de-stress on the deck because it's too hot on the porch. Then an hour later on the porch now the sun has shifted. The big stretch is when a neighbor walked past with their dog.

Ok. Here it is. 200 puzzles in the bookcase and 3 cat napping areas. I've got stepping areas for reggie on both sides. Now I just need to coerce her into trying them out. On the left side, she can even jump from the window perch to the boxes and up to the bed.

My cat Reggie will be 10 this year and she still body slams the bathroom door if I close it. I could say it's because she likes the heated floor, but she slammed the door before I remodeled and added the heated floor. 🤣

My new mattress arrived today. The box is 5' tall/100 pounds. Did Reggie offer to help get it up the stairs? Of course not! She inspected the box then walked away. I managed to tip it end over end to get it to the top. Reggie yelled at me to watch her roll over, then relax after supervising me.

She's always so stressed. 😁 it's hard to get her to relax. Here she is this morning, getting her fresh water from the tub faucet while I brushed my teeth. It doesn't matter that she has a ceramic water dish fountain in the kitchen...
