As fellow travellers will know, I don’t agree with the system of blocking on here but, as with the last unhinged creepy man who always seemed to reply to many of my posts despite not following me and claiming not to be monitoring my and other feminists posts, the time has come. 👋

Here’s the obsessive man who monitors my posts for some reason known only to himself. What a totally normal and healthy way for an adult man to conduct himself. Why he chooses to do this rather than just not read what he clearly objects to is beyond me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

No thanks. This group of people - trans-identifying people - already derails enough conversations around women, lesbians, bisexuals, gay men, safeguarding and I’m not up for adding antisemitism to the list. You might. And you seem happy to keep doing the thing you say you hate. I’m not.

This by Suzanne Moore is worth a read. The Green Party, in adopting the motion that includes calls for a single state solution (effectively the destruction of the state of Israel), has made itself a racist party with racist policies. 1/3 suzannemoore.substack.com/p/the-greens...

The Greens have shown us who they really are...
In September 2019, I literally ran away from the kind of people who have just voted to make their party the most racist party in our country.

Given Susanne Moore wrote this I wondered whether anyone would make this about transgender people and here you are. You choosing to do this only succeeds in derailing and delegitimising her original important essay.

The women’s charity around the corner works with older women who do struggle to make ends meet and aren’t asset rich, so need help, as do children in poverty. It’s the lack of nuance that’s frustrating - I don’t mean in the nuance-free zone of BS but in political communication and policy.

A new hip for dad would be a good use of their above average household income. I suppose us each having our own ideas of wealth and there being significant groups differentiated by income means it’s hard to talk about ‘pensioners’ without clearly defining terms, which few do.

We all have our own perceptions of ‘wealth’. My parents had fairly modest jobs (brewery worker and school exams officer) yet bring in so much money from 2 x state pensions and 2 x work pensions (at least one final salary) they can’t spend it. Right time, right place for them. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyway, this isn't about the merits of either policy, but about how we as a society view the generations - who is deserving and valued, who is worth protecting, when we demand the state steps in vs when we insist it's a matter of "personal responsibility". Pensioners trump children, every day

And that's free childcare where the threshold is 100k. For child benefit - once universal, in recognition that children cost money but we sort of need them if we want a sustainable society - the threshold is one parent on 80k, and it gets tapered from 60k. Even if the other parent earns nothing

We can argue about the perverse incentives of cliff edges or whether £100k is actually that high a salary now. But fundamentally there is a disconnect. Universal benefits for the elderly, regardless of how many millions they may have in assets. No universal benefits for working parents

It is wild, when you think about it, that a social media platform can declare women 'intolerant' simply for defending women's rights. No harassment, no abuse, no targeting, no slurs: just feminism. And that label is celebrated by so-called left wing progressives who pretend to support women.

As with those who relish the opportunity to pretend to be progressive and feminist while denying women’s rights to single sex provisions, so too are those who profess to be antiracist and pro-immigration often among the biggest racists of all. They are the intolerant bigots. I suspect a big overlap
