Dick move but I am not surprised. Sadly. If this game was made by a big successful studio, they'd be showered with praise for tackling an important, difficult topic. Meanwhile smaller folk get censored at the last minute...there is not justice where big money is involved.

I strayed from the NSFW path recently and did some car and mecha dev exploration. The mechas were fun but as much as I love mechas I didn't feel it. Maybe they lacked the hot lady pilots xD I do have an idea for a car game though so maybe one day! Back to arrow game!

All the changes in the last decade or more lead us to this point where we finally see all the "improvements" were done to blind us to the truth and leash us so we will own nothing and like it. Corporate needs to sell more, not help solve any kind of problem.

Another thing is - people don't understand the costs and how expensive dev is. So far the art - concept art, assets, UI etc. done for me by @mertzdn.bsky.social + the sound assets I got on sales + the plugins I needed also got on sales all round to somewhere around $1000 covered from my day job.

I see the whole "indie will save us" thing and...lol. People still can't fathom how difficult it is to make a game and how astronomically more difficult it is to LIVE off making games. Its not 2008 when there were way less games being released and you could carve out a niche for yourself.

I think what frustrates me is how much worse it is in indie. If you think aaa is bad, watch what happens with the big fish in the small ponds. Some of the most prominent voices in indie--people you like--are rapists, neo Nazis, bigots, and serial abusers.

'Indie will save us' is rooted in consumer thought, not creator. 'Indie will save us' is about how big games are meaningless and novel small games, usually with a gimmick, are better so it's okay to buy them. They don't care about workers, they care about feeling good about the treats they consume.
