Load-Bearing Houserule: A house rule that you are going to need to make that will change the whole of the game. Also a houserule that when asked you will wish you had an answer five minutes ago.

I grow extremely tired of seeing People post about political action as though you can click to build a Punk Bar and three Soup Kitchens and then click the Punk Bar and start summoning Crusties, which you can later upgrade to Leftist Militiamen.

A game you enjoy doesn't have to be a deeply transcendent experience,or a perfectly well oiled and designed system to have a good time, you can and will in fact enjoy this hobby playing games that are clunky, broken and bad. You should, however, be able to tell the difference between fun and good.

The vast majority of tabletop games are Fine, Honestly. Yes, even the ones I slander! It takes A LOT to be "bad enough" for me to recommend actively avoiding a game for the game-part specifically (platforming is a different conversation). This means different things in different contexts.

What's crazy is, the premise of The Punisher is just a writer using a story to answer the question filling his letters inbox at this time "Why doesn't Spider-Man kill people!?" The answer being, that it would make Spider-Man into a violent dipshit who is easily manipulated.

Look the trans spidey trend is cute, I want petra parker to live her best life but what I REALLY want Is to hook her up with butch lesbian Black Cat! I NEED it! ... yes I grew up with the 90s animated spiderman how did you guess?

A butch version of Black Cat leans against two panels on the right while talking to the phone. The top panel shows her hand clutching the phone which is showing a picture of Petra Parker in her spidey costume from an online newspaper; in the third, Black Cat is blushing and staring intently at the picture, clutching her phone in both hands.
Text (left of the page):
-no, Spidey is a great guy, it's just...
*inaudible phone static*
If he was a girl, yes. No, I haven't talked to him in a while...
*peremptory phone static*
Her?
*explanatory phone static*

The only time I ever felt like a wise old mentor in a kung fu movie was when I was running Wild Talents and one of my players (whose expectations had been established by dragon games) and they kept having scenes about their characters beliefs, to trigger their Passions and Loyalties, to gain 1/2

In my recent Wild Talents campaign, the players had a bluescreen moment when they realized that due to the sheer power they had accumulated, international bodies are nervous around them. But I think that moment is actually what makes Wild Talents such a compelling system.
