THE EVERWINTER KING Querying Soon! Desperate to find his oldest friend, the missing sun god, a former holy king returns to the home he abandoned and the people he betrayed to reunite with his god and prevent an endless winter. #QuestPit #Q #A #F #AgentsGuide
Title page for an agent's guide to THE EVERWINTER KING. The title is placed over a moodboard featuring a Mediterranean inspired setting and royalty imagery. In addition to the title the page reads "Adult Fantasy Standalone. Queer normative world. MM romance subplot. 95,000 words."
THE EVERWINTER KING's pitch.

PITCH
A former holy king does the one thing he swore he’d never do in search of his missing god. He goes home.

Malachi was born with God’s voice in his head. When God vanishes in the midst of a decade-long winter, Mal breaks the oath he made to himself and returns to the home he abandoned—the city where he was raised to be king. There, he’s marked to compete in trials meant to select God’s new emissary. His replacement.

After succeeding in the first trial, Mal demands entry to the royal temple, where he learns the skies are empty. God has stopped speaking to his priests and Mal alike. With no other avenue for answers, Mal must win the competition for God’s favor and assume the throne he never wanted, or risk losing his oldest friend for good and damning the world to a worsening everwinter. An excerpt from THE EVERWINTER KING.

“My head hurts,” Malachi mumbled into his drink.

“They say King Ridaris’ eye glowed like this.”

Did they? Malachi shuffled through his memories for any mention of that from his mothers, or the history books, and found nothing.

“I think it means God knows who you are.” Sen lowered her voice, eyes shifting toward the surrounding priests. Kinder to pretend she did it out of concern for his headache. “You need to be careful.”

“Aye.”

“It hasn’t stopped glowing. Everyone else’s did.”

He raised a hand to cover his eye, pausing to marvel at the light pouring over his fingers and palm. It spilled into every crack, crevice, and scar his hand had to offer, like liquid pooled against his skin. Malachi closed his fist around the cold light and pressed it to his face. “Hurts.”

“Close your eyes,” Samara offered. “Rest. We’ll handle it from here.”

For once, he did just that.A page listing comp titles.

Comp titles for THE EVERWINTER KING include: "The Raven Scholar" by Antonia Hodgson, "The Raven Tower" by Ann Leckie, "WITCH KING" by Martha Wells, and "The Red Winter" by Cameron Sullivan.

Similarities include: godly shenanigans, political trials, queer-norm worlds, queer male leads, messy homecomings, and a second chance subplot.

Bonus comp! Dragon Age 2.

A divine homecoming.
He is the vessel of my existence. The missing half that completes me. There is no him without me. And without him, there is no me.

A plus-size baddie dog sits to survive after her ex leaves her—then she meets a guy in the personal care aisle who’s everything her ex wasn’t: loyal, patient & in desperate need of a dog sitter…which might just ruin her plan to swear off love forever 🐾🌿 #QuestPit #A #R #Q
Agent's Guide cover page for GOOD BOYS ONLY, an 89,000-word adult plus-size rom-com. Green background with Sydney & Owen (the main character's names) alternating. Stock images of a plus-sized girl and a tattooed man. Polaroids of tattooed hand holding, a Red Wings hockey game, and a Corgi + Golden Retriever.GOOD BOYS ONLY pitch: After her boyfriend of six years moves out, retail manager Sydney Bennett is barely hanging on—juggling long shifts and a side hustle dog-sitting to tide her over. When she meets Owen Sutton in the personal care aisle after a rant about two “demonic Pomeranians,” he’s instantly charmed—and in need of a sitter for his own, much better-behaved dogs.

What starts as a business arrangement turns into something gentler and deeper: a slow-burning romance between two people still healing from betrayal. But as Sydney grapples with falling for the man keeping her financially afloat and the past comes back to haunt Owen, they’ll have to decide if the safety they’ve found in each other is worth risking their hearts for. On a split green background of sage green and light green. Two stock images of a tattooed man and a plus-sized woman. Paw print & sage leaf sprig emojis.First page and comps from GOOD BOYS ONLY. Comp titles include Well, Actually by Mazey Eddings, You, With a View by Jessica Joyce, The Re-Do List by Denise Williams, Young & Hungry TV show. Sample text: Much like my life, my apartment is going up in smoke.
I choke on the black cloud billowing from the oven. My gourmet dino nuggets have turned to fossils. “Oh, fuck me,” I groan.
Lava-like heat bites through my oven mitt, and I drop the sheet pan on the stovetop. Shrill barks echo in tandem with the smoke alarm that’s now going off, piercing my ears like it’s in surround sound, live from Hell. Lovely.
“Piper, Phoebe, get back! I’m trying to save you.” I shoo the orange Pomeranians away from the radiating heat. Dog sitting was supposed to be an easy way to get out of this shithole apartment, not burn it down. Even if I dream about lighting it up most days.
But the aggressive “Past Due” rent letter taped to my door this morning is on the counter, taunting me, like some sick adult version of a haunted house. “Thanks, Devin,” I spit into the ether, as if he can hear me from Chicago. And a big thanks to me, too, for treating my credit cards like Monopoly money.
Flicking on the exhaust fan to clear my galley kitchen, I take a misguided deep breath, and the cremated dinosaurs send me into another coughing fit. In a fight for my life, I snag my Getting Figgy With It towel off of the oven door and wave it pathetically below the alarm.
After a couple of minutes and more pathetic towel waving, the fog clears and the chirping stops. But the dogs are still barking. Though, to be fair, I don’t think they’ve stopped barking all weekend.
While fishing out the scraps of remaining treats from the girls’ travel bag, they hit my calves like starving, vicious dust bunnies. I blew through their supply in an attempt to Pavlov them into loving me. All it did was condition them to misbehave and still demand treats. [sample continues]Tropes & The Couple. Pumped to pitch ETERNALLY DEAD - my 107k paranormal romantic fantasy that explores what happens when an injured musician gets a second shot at stardom by joining an all-vampire rock band in the dangerous Vampire Realm 🧛‍♂️ 🩸🎸 #questpit #a #f #pr #rf #q #amquerying
Background of concert audience with giant vampire fangs floating above alongside the words "An agent's guide to: Eternally Dead, Adult Paranormal Romantic Fantasy, 107k words, by @katgoestoshows." A one sentence pitch is featured on bottom that reads: An injured musician gets a second shot at stardom -- only its by joining an all-vampire rock band in the blood-thirsty vampire realm. A red splatter of blood is splashed is corner.Red and black background with red text at the top that reads "the blurb." The text below reads: Celia Sharpe's life-long dream of being a rockstar guitarist ended the day an accident wrecked her hand. Now a New York City concert photographer, she strictly focuses on making deadlines. But when Celia spots a mysterious stranger at a concert she can’t capture on camera, she abandons her job to follow him down an alley—only to be accidentally transported to the Vampire Realm.

Stranded and vulnerable in a world of dangerous monsters, Celia has one goal: return home ASAP. But the stranger she followed reveals that he's the bassist of all-vampire rock band Mortuus Aeternum (Eternally Dead), and he offers her a seductive opportunity: if Celia stays, the band's flirty guitarist Caliban will temporarily heal her hand so she can join Mortuus Aeternum. However, she must perform for audiences of blood-thirsty vampires, of course.

Trapped in the Vampire Realm with no way out, Celia is conflicted: she might be willing to sacrifice her freedom for Caliban's healing magic and a second chance at living her rockstar dreams, but she risks death if she doesn't find a way home. Especially when blood shortages are announced across the Vampire Realm. How will she survive?
Red and black background with a bright red title that reads THE COMPS. Below are four book covers and one movie poster that include brief descriptions beside them. The first is Fang Fiction by Kate Stayman-London and it's described as an urban fantasy in a vampire setting. Next is Bride by Ali Hazelwood, described as having a steamy romance and political intrigue. Next is The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent, described as having a human fighting to survive in a vampire world. Next is a movie poster for Almost Famous, described as music journalist + rock band = forced proximity. Last is the cover of Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid, described as having a rock band with secrets and love triangles. The tropes and vibes section includes the following text: grounded fantasy, found family, diverse characters, plot twists, chronic illness rep, slow burn yearning, and twist on fated mates.Red and black background with white text snd large red title that reds THE OPENING. Below the title is the opening of the book, which reads: Celia Sharpe slammed her palm against the closed subway doors, trying to pry open the cool metal with sweaty fingertips. The train had finally – finally – made it to the station, and she needed to get off. Now. When the doors opened at long last, she burst through them like a bat out of hell, charging towards the exit.
She couldn't miss the opening of this show, or it might be her last.

Below the opening is the word EXCERPT in large red letters, and below is text in white font. The following excerpt reads:
Caliban knelt beside her and took her hand, her breath hitching at his touch. A warm sensation transferred between his fingertips and her scar, a tingling feeling moving up her whole arm. She pulled back on instinct.
“What did you do?” she trembled, awestruck. The scar had vanished.
“It’s only temporary. Please play,” he said, his green eyes wanting.
The pain was gone. Gone. As if it had never been there at all. Her left hand curved around the guitar neck, hugging the strings. Overcome by the magic of it, Celia grinned.

#questpit #A #DF #Q In my world, magic isn't invisible. It lives in your hair, eyes, and color. And when the darkness takes it... it erases you.
A dark, atmospheric title slide featuring a black book cover framed with pale floral designs. The title reads “Born of Light, Cursed by Darkness” by Cassandra Habig. A glowing streak of multicolored light cuts through the title. Background is warm gold and shadowed, with text indicating “Adult Dark Academia Romantic Fantasy” and “120k words.”A dark fantasy blurb slide with teal text on a smoky gold and black background. The header reads “BLURB” followed by the tagline “Magic lives in color. When it fades… so do you.” The paragraph describes Rihalyn Embers, her hidden magic, her sister’s execution, and her arrival at a deadly academy. Decorative images include glowing flowers and a glass-encased rose, reinforcing a magical, fragile atmosphere.

Text reads:
Magic lives in color. When it fades… so do you.
Twenty-year-old Rihalyn Embers lives on Runyan, where magic reveals itself in color, and she has none. Until her sister Mahdilyn is exposed as a rare illusionist, revealing she has been masking Rihalyn’s iridescent colors and altering her memories to keep her safe from Abel, the self-crowned ruler who siphons color to secure his throne. When Mahdilyn is executed for refusing to join Abel’s army, Rihalyn is sent to Wychlith, an academy that trains mages to serve Abel, where combat trials force magic to the surface, victories raise rank, and defeat costs pieces of a mage’s soul.

At Wychlith, light awakens. Darkness waits.
Rihalyn clings to one goal: survive long enough to reclaim her suppressed power, uncover what Mahdilyn hid, and learn why she died for it. But when Kieran, Abel’s son, takes her under his mentorship, she cannot tell whether he is shielding her from Abel or shaping her into something useful for his own rise. Kieran wields dark magic, the same force draining Runyan of its color, and every lesson awakens Rihalyn’s light while binding her more tightly to him.

If Abel finds her, he’ll drain her.
If Kieran loves her, he may destroy her.
Now she must decide who to trust before Abel senses the light waking inside her, Kieran’s darkness corrupts it, and what little color remains in Runyan vanishes forever.A split slide showing “Tropes & Themes” on the left and “Comps” on the right. The left lists elements like color vs. darkness, shadow magic, dark academia, morally gray characters, slow burn romance, and found family, alongside romantic and symbolic imagery. The right lists comparison titles The Serpent & the Wings of Night and The Foxglove King, with brief descriptions of tone and themes. A short “Unique Appeal” section highlights a color-based magic system drained by darkness.A dark, cinematic slide divided into two sections: “Snippet” and “The Atmosphere.” The snippet features a close, emotional interaction between two characters with intense eye contact and tension. Below and beside it is a collage of fantasy imagery including glowing magic, castles, books, shadowy forests, and magical hands, visually conveying the tone of a dark, magical academy setting.

When she blows off an unscheduled, desperate client for margaritas, a woman shows up the next day and refuses to leave until Jade reads for her—only to reveal herself as Jade’s spirit guide. Her ultimatum: complete a series of increasingly personal tasks to realign with her purpose or lose her gift.

Then, the following text in Times New Roman inside of a white-colored, rounded-corner box: Death is staring at me.
Rather, the Death card is staring at me. It’s the third time this reading it’s come up for my regular, Macie. She’s been on a journey of rebirth for a while and is at the precipice.
I arrange the cards, taking in Death, The Tower, Eight of Pentacles in reverse. When I shift the spread, the navy celestial tablecloth snags on my nail, toppling over the labradorite curvy goddess carving. Biting my cheek, I flip another card. Five of Swords. Shit.
“What? What’s wrong? Why are you making that face? That’s never a good face,” Macie rambles. Her round, hazel eyes are filled with what I’ve come to know as anticipatory terror.
Poor thing is an anxious wreck. I’m trying to guide her, not send her into a doom spiral about her life. “You know these cards aren't omens or premonitions. They’re pillars of guidance, leading you along your path. This card…” I sigh, cracking my knuckles, rings scraping against my dry skin. I have got to restock my lotion. Eleven minutes left on the timer and twenty to my last client. Maybe I’ll stop by Sephora before dinner.
     “Jade?”
Oh, right. The reading. I shake my head. “The Death card—”
“Death? Please, no. Anything but Death.”
“The Death card,” I repeat, “means your cycle is ready to renew. Paired with The Tower? Well, it’s time. Your spirit guides aren’t waiting for you to feel ready—they’re pushing you over the edge. This is rock bottom. Know that what’s on the other side is a brighter version of you.” [sample continues]

Always Get In a Spaceship With a Scoundrel

A Sci-fi Romance by Ellie Rhymer

Representation Christi CardenasRomantic pink and sci-fi neon and stars: Pitch. Good heists. Bad Decisions. Great Chemistry.

Anora is the quick-thinking manager of an illegal casino, fleeing the assassination of her gang's boss with the hyperspace treasure maps thrust into her hands as he died.

Jayro is a mouthy interstellar smuggler from the wrong side of the hyperspace lane with the only ship that can get Anora off Hecate IV before the emperor's relic-hunting space witches close a net around the planet.

The two bad-at-feelings bisexuals try to tamp down simmering, inconvenient attraction as they are forced to work together with the scrappy, tight-knit crew of the Helle Wanderer to survive in the criminal underworld and discover the secret at the end of the dangerous maps.

Their love story is a heist and they're stealing more than each other's hearts.

Always Get In a Spaceship With a Scoundrel by Ellie Rhymeromantic neon pink and a starry background: Excerpt. “Those are pre-set…” Jayro warned as Anora toggled a series of switches at the nav computer and began actively moving data streams around the screen.
“Pre-set for scans for //stationary objects//. You pick out your nav programs like you pick out your paint schemes?”
Jayro felt annoyance rising up in him again. The cockpit was his domain. Never mind that he agreed with her about the deco. “It took Fish weeks to get those programs running!”
“Look, unless you want to meet an asteroid face to face, shut the hells up and let me work.” Anora frowned as she watched some data return from the program. “Call engineering.”
“Gladly.” Jayro opened the channel on his wrist communicator.
“Yeah?” Fish’s voice responded.
“The new navigator is having trouble with her—” Jayro broke off as Anora grabbed his forearm and yanked his wrist in front of her own face, causing his chair to whirl towards her.
“What on-boards are your pre-sets accounting for?” she asked into the communicator without a glance at him.
“The hyrdobeacon,” crackled Fish’s reply, “the fore and aft isotrope routers…and the gravitic drive buffer, I think.”
Jayro was frozen as Anora swiped at the nav one-handed. He could feel her warm breath on his palm as she spoke with Fish through his communicator, her hand gripping his forearm almost burning him through his flight jacket. She was close enough to smell the blaster emissions wafting off her, the sharp, citrus scent of the steam bath clinging to her skin. His fingertips were millimeters from her cheek and he wanted to cup her face in his hand and drag her around to look at him with those bright eyes. He wanted to play with the flyaway bit of hair that had missed her ponytail and brush his thumb over her lips until they parted.
What was wrong with him?

#Questpit Mass effect x Treasure Planet "People of Humanity, we have been observing your Earth..." These are the word that came down from the stars when Humanity stood on the Brink. The words that offered them a Second Chance at life. 6 years later, our story begins. #Q #SF #SFF
In The Service of Gods & Admirals.

A Novel by

James KellerPeople of Humanity,

We have been observing your Earth and know you can not survive. The damage done to your world is too great for any species to recover from. You lack the technology to escape but there is no reason why the Galaxy should have to go on without you.

In the name of our Goddess, the Lady of Crystal, I have declared the Uplift of Humanity from your ruined world. And have bestowed onto you a new planet to call your own. Where you can rebuild yourselves and live on under the light of the stars.

We offer you passage to this new world. To welcome you into the Galactic Community as Citizens of the Jada Empire. Under the protection of my court, the Assembly, and the Admiralty of the Royal Navy.

You will be granted all the rights and privileges as any other Citizen in our domain. We will offer all the assistance you require as you heal and grow on your new Colony. To help you find your place in the Galaxy.

The wars that have ravaged your Earth are not our concern. We seek not to pass judgement, but to offer a chance at peace. To survive as a people and as a culture.

To all who accept this offer, our ships will be arriving to evacuate you. Instructions will be broadcast to lead you to the evacuation zones. To all who refuse, you will be left alone without further interference. We mean no harm but we will protect our new citizens from anyone who seeks to prevent them from traveling to their new home.

I know that you do not know of us, of anyone beyond your Earth. but we do come in peace. We come in peace. All we ask is the opportunity for our people to get to know each other.

Bea’s convinced she’s bad, and hides her sexuality in the pixelated boxes of TemptressB—it’s how she survived what came before. Until a suspicious subscriber, censorship-happy board member, and stupidly principled (utterly devastating) boss force her to be fully seen. #QuestPit #Q #A #WF #U #LF #R
Image: faded background of library metal bookcases. A pink filter is atop growing from the bottom left corner. A blue pen is across the right part of the screen poised beside a scribbled heart.

Text: Shamelessly Wanting. By Frankie Joy. An Agents Guide. Upmarket fiction with romantic arc (80k). Querying.

Text banner at top: messy fmc, buttoned-up mmc, late stage dual pov, open-door, book banning b-plotImage: light pink background with a pink distortion in the corners. Scribbled blue loops separate two halves of the slide. Yellow highlighter is beneath the headers. Four book covers are on the right-hand side.

Pitch:

Beatrice Dorsey shelves books at the Meadow Park Library-and runs a spicy content site under the name Temptress. But that's none of her coworkers' business. Or her family's. Especially not Miles Noor, her steady and irritatingly attractive boss. The man who brought her burgers on the library floor and walked away from their almost-kiss with two words: "Not yet." A new subscriber surfaces, reminding her of what she's always known: "You were always bad;)" Someone from before has Found her. Within weeks, Bea's cousin has the photos, her best friend tires of her avoidance, and a board member is targeting "indecent" books. The exposure she's spent years hiding from is coming due.
Bea arms herself with humor, lipgloss, and sour gummy bears. It works. Mostly. Until she's lying on the floor wondering who she is when she stops performing.

Comps:

The Wedding People
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine
Funny, guarded heroine learning to let people in —and making mistakes along the way.

Idea of You
Centering of female desire.

Fleabag
Exploration of shame without moralizing.Image: light pink background with a pink distortion in the corners. Scribbled asterisks are in the right upper corner. Yellow highlighter is beneath the headers. Gummy bears are beside Bea and jalebi beside Miles.

Bea Dorsey
Gummy bear-fueled, anxious-avoidant, narrating her life in lipgloss. If she gets too close to others they might see the parts of her she shamefully hides. You'll want her happy ending anyway.
"I hid truths from my own brain. Reality is what I say it is."

Miles Noor
Patient, principled, and permanently undone by the woman he’d sign disclosure paperwork for. He never forgets he's her boss-but the buttoned-up exterior becomes too suffocating to maintain.
"I’m just here to unbutton your buttons, Miles.”
Image: pink background dominated by text on an off-white square. An illustration is in the bottom right corner. Depiction of Miles Noor (black sweats and eating a burger) beside Bea Dorsey (blushing, cross legged in a yellow sweater and jeans). Scribbles of three blue hearts is beside Miles and a bee doodle is above Bea. Art by Croverfield.

But she wandered too close to that overnight with Miles. Not the time hed walked away-when hed stayed. They'd eaten fries. If they ever talked things out-really talked-she'd tell him. That she'd cheated. Every time. Let him decide. That is...if being an online sex worker hadn't already ruled her out.

But this time I'd be different.

She hadn't deleted her profile. Hadn't returned since that message: naughty librarian.

When you think about it, it doesn't sound so awful. I work in a library—I do naughty things. Just not at the library.

She could do naughty things at the library.
Not with her site-definitely grounds for termination. With Miles-naughty things. In the library. His office. The cataloging room. Against the books. Floor.

Though, technically, doing naughty things with the boss was also grounds for termination. It was easy for her to forget. He was her boss.

A gothic-style book cover titled "Root and Ruin." Centered is a glowing, cyan-blue dragon coiled into a circle, its scales etched with faint, runic symbols. Golden, gnarled roots extend downward from the dragon like branching veins against the pitch-black background. Text at the top reads "Enemies to Lovers," "Fated Mates," and "Fake Identity," with "An Agent’s Guide" in the top right. Subtitle reads "80k • NA Slavic Romantasy," and the bottom logline says, "She is sent to kill the dragon. Instead, she might become his only salvation."A graphic titled "The Comps" in golden lettering. It displays four book covers arranged in a grid: "Heartless Hunter" by Kristen Ciccarelli, "Fourth Wing" by Rebecca Yarros, "Shadow and Bone" by Leigh Bardugo, and "The Witcher: The Last Wish" by Andrzej Sapkowski.A self-made fantasy illustration showing a halfway transformed, dark-haired man, Prince Konstantin Veliki, with a silver crown and dragon wings. He is carrying a woman, a humble servant Iva, masquerading as a Duchess Zora, in a long, flowing cream-colored gown as they fly through the air. She is his guest but unbeknownst to him, she is plotting to poison him. In the background, a sprawling forest surrounds a magic academy, Kolegium with colorful, traditional Slavic-style onion domes—gold, silver, bronze and green. Each of the domes represents air, water, fire and earth magic respectively. Snippet text at the bottom reads: "Do you always sequester your guests and take flight with them?"A self-made illustration set in the catacombs under the magic academy, Kolegium, featuring classical-style statues on the walls. Iva, in dark armor, rides a bright, light blue-scaled dragon; it is Prince Konstantin Veliki in his dragon form.
They face off against a monstrous, ethereal shadow dragon composed of wispy, black smoke and glowing eyes — this is Konstantin’s fallen father Tibor Veliki. A brilliant golden sphere of light, relic of the Slavic god of light, Belobog, called Spark of Creation, floats on a pedestal between them. Text at the bottom of the snippet reads: "Let us dance, little one," the Shadow Dragon hisses in a dry whisper of the fallen. "A worthy foe," Konstantin responds. We take to the air to meet the darkness. Two gargantuan winged silhouettes hover in the abyss, suspended in a precarious balance. They mirror one another; two sides of the same coin, champions of Belobog and Chernobog.

alien ship's cook (fussy, anxious) + terrifying monster (ordinary human)PITCH:
Tai’s terrified of humans. Everyone is. Violent pack hunters, humans are notorious for their strength, sharp teeth, and carnivorous appetites. But the ship’s cook is safe among the multispecies crew of the cargo hauler Coreward Baker: everyone knows the warrior species rarely leave their own space. Then Captain Raz hires Clarke, a human horticulturist.
Even after Tai overcomes their fear, they can’t stand Clarke. She’s bossy. Annoying. Useless in the galley, bad in a space suit. She might as well be cargo. Worse, she’s intent on befriending Tai—and why can’t they stop thinking about her, anyway?
That’s when things go wrong. As Tai starts to realize their feelings for Clarke, they’re horrified to learn that nobody on their crew of dropouts and runaways is quite who they seem, least of all Clarke. And it’s no coincidence. Raz reveals they’ve each been handpicked for a heist he’s spent years planning—and no one’s allowed to say no.

“Gross,” the speaker’s crewmate said, oblivious to my alarm. “I hope it leaves soon.”
“Don’t let it hear you say that,” the first worker laughed. She made a show of looking for Humans, her eyes darting from table to table.
It. I frowned. I knew the workers’ language distinguished between people and things, and ‘it’ was an unkind choice of words at best.
The second worker shuddered. “I don’t know why we let them come here.”
The first laughed. “Are you going to stop them?”COMPS:

A mood board of eight tiles and a centre square with lockpicking tools and ancient writing:
1. Always have an escape plan.
2. A swindler never lets herself feel like a fraud.
3. Don't look for the easy grab, look for the easy mark.
4. Never get involved with golems.

The pictures depict, clockwise from upper right:
A) A city of canals and towering footbridges. There are minarets and steeples and red-tiled roofs.
B) A market selling elaborate lanterns, all aglow.
C) A porcelain and gold hand, reaching upwards.
D) Two figures leaping across rooftops against the coming dawn.
E) A pocketwatch--or is it? Constellations and continents cover the front, the body of the watch engraved with runes. It's sitting on ancient parchment.
F) A wax stamp with removable chits that function as coins in a card game.
G) The lords of the city overlooking grand canals and issuing edicts. They are dressed in fine red robes and silks.
H) Assorted bones and shells used for divination and more.
