lol, i hear you. yeah, "shadow IT" is something i run into frequently. i have found more willingness on behalf of frontline clients to truly collaborate, though. that's been a recent very encouraging development. i think there's room for a layered approach of standardizing and custom tools. 🌱

well, they're still gonna run outta oil. honestly, they'd make better progress if they let go of oil and embraced sustainable tech. our old people ate too much lead. they're not able to adapt, anymore, and that's a key value to a functional democracy. ugh.

that, but also it's the "stuck in the past" white man mentality. we could be a great province, but people's blind dedication to oil & gas, aversion to change, and lack of imagination mean it feels stagnant. i want to work in a place where i can help build something sustainable, ethical.

no, they're white. that's why they're linking arms and using their priviledge for good. this is what good allyship looks like. this is what taking action looks like. good allies use priviledge as defense where oppressors use it as a weapon.

something 22 Minutes has reintroduced me to: the grand canadian tradition of being absolutely critical and questioning of our sitting gov't no matter /what/ the party tin on the outside says. no party is safe from Big Goose Energy. being unabashedly critical of our leaders is #canadian culture.

there are /some/ (albeit misguided and dumbfuck) babies in the bathwater. what i owe to them, as fellows born on these treaty lands in canada, is a fight for their mind. they've lost that ability, lost reason. it's a long road back, but that's no stranger to canadians - guiding back those lost.
