A. Swallow @buzzbox525.bsky.social · 9hWhich is odd to say the least. What I do know is what I have seen from other unions of state workers I do know. And those unions seem to have it together when negotiating wages & benefits with WA. But as I said, I am on the outside of this whole MEBA drama. 000
A. Swallow @buzzbox525.bsky.social · 9hLooking at this from the outside. There are multiple factors that are causing the current problem. A very large factor is the lack of communication between parties when problems in pay were first identified. But CBAs after these problems were identified were still agreed on by ALL agencies involved. 100
A. Swallow @buzzbox525.bsky.social · 9hShould MEBA have gone to the table sooner to demand better pay for those they say they represent when they first noticed the disparities? Certainly. Did they? I can't say as I am on the outside on the specifics of the whole drama between MEBA, OFM, & WSF. 100
A. Swallow @buzzbox525.bsky.social · 9hShould WSF readjust their workforce number determination? Most definitely. WSF is not the only state agency seeing staffing shortages or in need of making adjustments to their respective workforce numbers. It's a systemic problem, but their union reps seem to get their 💩 done when negotiating wages. 100
A. Swallow @buzzbox525.bsky.social · 9hSo the current CBA agreement (agreed by both MEBA & WSF) is not fair? How so? From what I have seen on the reporting. It seems like leadership w/in MEBA needed to get to the table sooner back in '22-'24 when they first noticed the pay disparities, possibly before morale tanked to what it is now. 100
