Lanterns kind of comes close, but overall I think "surf dracula" is an overstated concept. A lot of the examples given on Know Your Meme are origin story movies, rather than a prestige streaming drama (also theres Netflix Avatar, which as far as I know starts in the same place as the 2005 show).
