I survived Thanksgiving family time without crying.

As someone whose primary special interest is research, I find AI/llm especially offensive.

I really love the goose silhouette. Something very calming about the composition.

Can't wait to get shit next weekend for wearing a mask at Thanksgiving.

“how do we win back trump voters in 2026” we don’t. we create an environment where admitting to voting for trump is so socially embarrassing as to render them completely inert. you don’t “win back” trump voters. you demoralize them into staying home. you make it a dunce cap

Wow! Amazing you can draw so well with your non dominant hand! Looks so ominous and mysterious. Perfect for this time of year.

I never really got the makeup thing. I look good with it if I pay a professional to do it. I'm abysmal at doing it myself. My clothes are whatever is comfy. I like color but not patterns. Overalls are my jam. I guess my style is toddler chic.

Congrats! You're an old man now!

This was a joke. I know it means homogenized.

A photo of 3 cartons of Island Farms Homo milk.

We had milk in Canada labeled homo milk. It was whole milk. Homo meaning man would be, um, horrific.

Awesome perspective! Lots of cool intersecting angles. I think it's neat.

Wait. There are multiple species of kiwis? I had no idea. Also those are super cute stamps!

I started feeling off earlier and getting a headache. Then it rained. It's been so dry the last months that I forgot I get barometric migraines.

The amount of family members I have on Facebook posting pics of their kids with those school day info plaques is disturbing. They really think meta is safe.

Carney is truly the Reagan of Canada. A calming, paternalistic figure in a period of apocalyptic uncertainty who galvanizes the economy with short-sighted right wing fiscal policies. And like Reagan, every disaster that Canada encounters in the future will be traceable to his administration.

I was wondering why it was hazy today. Vancouver island is on fire.

I filled up with gas at the cheap station today. It's about 30 minutes away. The pump was so slow. It was like "look how cheap this gas is. No. Really look." It was $1.73 a litre. In my city it's $2.06. Diesel is like $3 a litre. Sucks to be you mr. Dodge ram.

My aunt has Parkinson's. She told me recently that she doesn't take long flights anymore because she can't control her movements that long and it's embarrassing. The drugs that help with the movements also have a visual hallucination side effects. I had no idea and was heartbroken.

Unfortunately it's the only option in a certain price range for a lot of people. I've been on HOA boards and it's maddening on the inside too. Micromanaging nightmare people.

I have a grey former feral girl myself. She is super picky with anything not crunchy. She turns her nose up at 98% of wet food and doesn't like Churu. But she will devour a mouse.

A grey cat with yellow-green eyes looks up at the viewer from a sitting position. She is very attentive of the camera.

Aww she's trying to be ferocious! So scary! She is a huntress and demands respect. And treats.

I'm a Canadian citizen that had a green card and lived in the USA. I relinquished my green card years ago. I still have US federal student loans. I have no real income. They kicked me off the IDR, so I went to a $10 a month plan, BUT I only have a Canadian bank and can't pay with it. JFC.

My dad over uses his and has paper thin skin on his hands now. So it does thin your skin over time. Just be very careful around paper. Paper cuts are my nemesis.

So it's been a month since I was in the ER with 2 broken toes. I can walk with a limp. My toes don't bend all the way anymore. No doctor followed up, so I guess I didn't need surgery. I've been basing my self care on the Leeds teaching hospital website. They even have exercise videos. Yea internet.

Somebody is yelling in the park at 1:20 am. I heard him yelling about 12 hours ago too. To himself. Telling his demons to shut up. Mental health resources are a joke here. Pisses me off that so many people are not getting what they need.

Sounds like the spring we had in Vancouver Canada. Cloudy and cold, then WHAM! Summer temps. Had to pull out the AC unit 3 months early. Also a serious lack of rain for spring.

Well we're officially at the "dad is too old to remember" stage. He has completely forgotten he had the be threatened with getting me taken away as a child so he would stop hitting me. "I never hit you. I did shake you when you were a baby, but you wouldn't stop crying". Cool dad, cool.

I moved back to Canada in 2019. I recently went to the ER for free. Last time I went to the ER in the USA it was $3000 deductible. My insurance paid the rest of the $27000. Very stressful when you're already on a tight budget.

Post exposure rabies shots are not cheap. I had the series but my work paid for them. It was about $900 in 2007. I got bitten through my boot by a dog. Shots also feel like fire but much better than the alternative.

Just read Tongues by Anders Nilsen and it's amazing! The book itself is very tactile with some pages that fold out. The art is clean but pulls you in with detail. The best part is the story! So many questions and emotions tug and pull throughout the book. The first volume is already an epic!
