you know when sometimes something strikes your brain and you realise you're going to get super into it? happened to me earlier this year with photography, but Dressmaker has done it for actual sewing and garment making irl.

Hey everyone, I'm really in a bind. I was just told earlier today that my job will be terminating me on October 13th, exactly one day before my upcoming requested paid medical leave to recover from bottom surgery. I intend to fight this in court, but I could really use some help in the meantime.

I'm thinking of the countless attempts to shut down and any all discussions about patriarchy and misogyny by invoking abstract charges of "gender essentialism", or accusing feminists of thinking all men are inherently evil. The reality is actually much worse---women's pain isn't seen as real.

the people believing discord's "90% of people won't need to verify age" lie is fucking exhausting. they have been caught lying multiple times about this already! "your documents are deleted immediately we promise" -> 70,000 IDs stolen because they were not in fact deleted.

House of the Underworld has been delayed again, I wanted to read a paper book today, so on the train I took Light From Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki and devoured half of it today. I'm really enjoying it! It's compelling, it's heartwrenching at times and makes me laugh when it wants to.

Ran #Daggerheart again for the first time in months, using an original monster-within-a-werewolf (the werewolf of werewolves, kinda) as the hunt in Andaluria. I've missed running the game so much, it's SO FUCKING FUN!!! Six players, a three hour session with a break for dinner in the middle.

I finished The Jasmine Throne! I'm glad I didn't drop it in the first 150 pages when it was annoying me, because it just kept getting better as I continued. It's not perfect, it could have been less concerned with overexplaining things at times. I would have liked longer descriptions of places.

i know i'm late to the party on this but Sekiro is a difficult game 😵‍💫 buuuut it took me less than 15 minutes total to go from first attempt at Gyoubu Oniwa to beating him in like 4 attempts 🎉 (i think NG+ Lies of Pi with dlc a few months ago may have prepared my parry skills for this. >_< )

It is our sacred queer history that the AIDs crisis "wiped out a generation of gay men", as many as 20% were HIV positive at the height of the crisis. What's ignored is that the rate for trans women suffering and dying from HIV/AIDs was 49x higher. It was actually us that got wiped out. 1/4

finally managed to get myself to pick The Jasmine Throne back up while commuting yesterday and oh my god the book got so much better now that the main wlw couple have started actually speaking to each other. it feels a bit fanfic-y in its dialogue but FINALLY the women are talking to each other!

Post a meme made by you

A still of actor Sean Bean from Ronin, sliced vertically and rearranged with his name along the bottom. The text reads "ean Bean S", implying the 'ean' of 'Bean', then the 'B' of 'Bean', then the 'ean' of 'Sean', then the 'S' of Sean. If I read it aloud, it would sound like "Eeen Bornsh". I don't know why I made this.

The Brain Before Sleep meme format, forming a four panel comic. The Grand Inquisitor from Star Wars lies in bed, thinking of his old folding Temple Guard lightsaber, as his brain says "My old lightsaber could fold 180 degrees.". In the bottom row of panels, his brain wonders "What if the new one can rotate further", and his eyes snap open wide in the last panel as he imagines the ridiculous rotating Inquisitor lightsabers in Disney Star Wars Canon that can spin like a helicopter's blades.

I think this is jaw-dropping to me... because it's so horrifying. One toilet roll so you have to buy more ASAP. One of each item of cutlery so you can't have a guest. Towels and bedding but no laundry products. No toothbrush or toothpaste. No hand soap or toiletries, nothing to keep clean.

New game idea! "Hetslop or M/M?" I screenshot the tags of a fic on ao3 and block out the character names and tags like "M/M" or "M/F" that identify which it is. Then someone has to guess if the fic is hetslop by a man who hates women or boyslop by a woman who hates women. Good luck guessing.

I want to preface this thread with a little bit about me. I read a ton of M/M when I was young. I grew up reading M/M books from authors like Anne Rice and Mercedes Lackey. So I am not a stranger to enjoying M/M, even though I now almost exclusively focus on books that center W/W romance.

i can't even describe how much good it does me to see another trans woman. i went to get a vaccination yesterday, at a queer clinic. aside from the cis woman who gave me the vaccination, the other clinic staff i talked to were three trans women. the whole world felt brighter as i walked home.

if you claim to be an organisation that helps marginalised people and then you cave at the first hint of a threat that your org might lose money due to an unjust system... then you are not helping. it was a good report! it means nothing if Amnesty UK won't even try to fight for us.

Read some more of The Jasmine Throne on monday, late talking about it because it was a really shit day. Kind of annoyed that despite being told this was a book about two women, so far almost half the scenes have been male POV scenes. I haven't strictly counted, just separated POVs with my fingers.

A couple of photos I like from the last few days. Lesbian flag coloured roses, and a cluster of white flowers where i wanted to focus on the buds in the centre of the image and let the others blur. The weather is too hot but the flowers around here are lovely right now!

A close-up photograph of a cluster of small white flowers with yellow stamens. The depth of field is very short, with many of the buds being out of focus. The edges and midribs of three leaves form visual guidelines that point towards the central flower that is in focus.

Some pink and orange roses in front of a patio, taken early in the evening when the light is at a low angle and casts shadows over the flowers towards the back.

Can men stop for one day, please? It's 11am and I've already had a cashier say, unprompted, "Love, you should get into modelling", and then got condescended to by another cashier in a different shop who blatantly checked out my arse while walking around behind me to check some products on the wall.

Like we're just doing this again. We keep euphemizing, downplaying and glossing over the fact that trans healthcare is specifically an issue because it permits us to change sex, because it moves us from one of society's rigidly bounded categories to another, and that's the whole fucking problem.

In Warframe I themed my Garuda's colours around Persephone (GO) Putting these colours on the invincible bloodsoaked killing machine that can tear out people's blood and throw it as a blood-bomb to kill crowds of enemies... it suits her.

A screenshot of Garuda, a cyborg from the game Warframe. Her body is black with white details, and gold accents and lights. She has huge golden claws on her hands, and a golden laurel wreath above her head. The colours evoke those of Persephone's hair and pilot suit in the Gunmetal Olympus series.

I don't want to wade deep into discourse and the character limit makes this hard but... "Passing privilege" discourse is so similar to the idea that the closet is a privilege. "If people who would hurt you don't yet know you're a [slur], that's privilege!" No, actually, it's part of the violence.
