TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque: "This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".

Doing AoC with Zig this year. It's going pretty good so far. Zig has been on my radar for a while, finally got an excuse to properly dig into it.

Preparing my talk for JSConf JP and I finally drew my mental venn diagram about how Node.js development works 🤪

In reality, being a community-driven project means…
- No roadmaps
- No project management
- Work doesn’t get done by itself
- 1 person saying no != consensus of 100+ collaborators
Volunteer work done at contributors’ free time covers a small portion of what the community wants the imaginary “Node.js team” to work on, and an even tinier part is covered by work sponsored by companies & organization.

I have an atproto question. Say I migrate my data from some social app X to app Y, which use the same lexicon etc. What happens to the labeler and the moderation layer? Are all previous labels removed and new ones are somehow placed? What if some comment I made was ok in app X but not in Y?
