Setting up Gmail on new devices makes me feel physically ill. Heaven forbid I am starting over and don’t have other devices to verify on. Seriously feel like I’ll throw up after all that. No one email me ever again, let’s switch to carrier pigeon and postcards.

I think 15 years ago was the one time I was able to attend Bloom. It was so beautiful.

I cannot unsee this. Thankfully, I’ve never smelled it because I hear that too is unforgettable.

Have you been to Lishh Cafe & Catering in Cork City before? I went for lunch and loved it.

Beautiful! Love it. Long overdue for another visit. I just got three Big Daddy Hostas which are supposedly slug resistant, but very much not.

My 6th grade science fair project was testing the water in a section of Rock Creek where we played in our neighborhood. E. Coli and so many nasty things found. Didn’t win the fair, but the families knew it wasn’t safe after that (1985). We were lucky we didn’t swim in it, just explore.

Needed a dress for my child’s communion and a separate celebration so went to @oxfamireland.bsky.social on Cook Street here in Cork City and tried on these beauties. Which do you think I bought? #sustainablefashion

That’s how I feel about walking everywhere. Maybe it can take a smidge longer if I hit the pedestrian crossings at the wrong times, but even then it’s a minute or two difference.

Spent the grand stretch today organising my greenhouse, repotting plants to larger pots, and making sure they are tucked in & cosy in case of a late frost. Cannot wait to put them in the ground in a couple weeks. In the meantime, they’ll feel like they’re in the Canaries in there. 🏝️

Sounds lovely. We have sweet peas in our garden but don’t have a scent. But are so beautiful. I keep saying sill get an archway for them to climb on. Maybe this is the year. You’re inspiring me! I was out in the garden today too. Nothing planted yet, but beds prepped. Small victories.

Spring in Ireland. As opposed to Irish Spring, which makes people think of the bar of soap whose shavings are handy as a garden pest deterrent. #ireland

Tonight, O’Sho hosted a 10th Birthday party for their neighbour Miyazaki Takaway. I enjoyed a pint of their house IPA with the evening’s tasting menu. Gathering with new friends & old, we celebrated the community Takashi Miayaki has built. Here’s to the next 10 years. 🌸 Happy birthday! 🌸

Looks like a typical night out out, right? What if I told you most of the drinks in this video were non-alcoholic? Loving the plethora of sober options available in #corkcity lately. From fancy apple juice at Bayou to mocktails at Fitzgerald’s Bar and at The Stamp Room, we aren’t missing a thing.

My friend June and I were impressed by Fitzgerald’s Bar at The Imperial Hotel Cork’s renovation (from floor to roof everything was restored and upgraded), but the drinks and light bites menu will have us returning for our next girls’ night out. Thanks for having us as your guests for the evening.

Are you a US-based business who ships to Canada? Please use USPS instead of UPS. A $30USD package incurred only $6.70CAD in tax but $33 in UPS customs clearance fees! Same package via USPS would have cost only the tax. I have to refuse the package and it's a small biz (artist) on the other end. 😪🧶

Exactly! I personally (not brunch-related) have my own tiny publishing imprint, but I’ll admit no one has ordered from my site in a couple years because of Amazon. If we give Goliath all the stones, we may no longer have any hope in David saving us when we need it.

Amazon doesn’t ask me ‘howrya keepin? How are the wee fellas?’ or know what books I may want based on what I love or bought before (not just adjacent plots or similar authors). But like if I dig mysteries with recipes & low-spice romance, I’ll love @gbralph.com and @angelahenryauthor.bsky.social

I won't pretend that Amazon's launch of a .ie site is not a threat to many small (and medium sized) businesses here. It is. But if I could ask Irish people to do one thing - don't assume that whatever you're buying will always be cheaper there. A monopoly is in no one's interest. #speirgorm
