In 2027 Seattle's minimum wage will be $22.14 per hour. That's more than THREE TIMES the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour—a rate that hasn't been raised since 2009. And yet somehow we're not the jobless wasteland orthodox economics would predict. Weird.

Rules like this obviously make individual children more vulnerable to abuse, bullying, scams, and ill health and make entire communities more vulnerable to shootings and other forms of violence, but they also diminish trust between educators and children and it's hard not to see this as a goal.
