Sudden urge to chibi-fy more steam engines I love my 1MT, and how jarring it is seeing that on a layout with regular models, but I also think it’d be cool having loads of shrunken engines on a layout together

Finally got some new decals, so my @doublem-models.bsky.social North Western is finally complete :) Recently he’s had to move websites, which has resulted in a loss of revenue during the switchover, if you want a project to work on, I can strongly recommend his products (link below)

I’ve gotten two more of these fellas to use for parts on 2 rail o scale custom models since locos like these are great custom model fodder, but one is in such good condition I may just keep one but repaint it. It will definitely be a unique loco to take to the club to run. #modelrailroad

This is the finished harbour wall. I still need to weather and ballast the track and add some more dirt, rust and grime etc. I'm also going to add a couple of rusty ladders etc, but I'm pleased with it so far. You can see how I did it in my latest YouTube episode.

Another update at the #3Dprinted clockwork Porter locomotive. I'm really happy with how the locomotive's looking so far. Now the main bulk of it is properly screwed together it is built like a brick, very sturdy feeling in the hand. I promise I'll show it running soon XD #modelrailroad

Right side shot of the 3D printed Porter, compressed air locomotive. Still a work in progress but the new iteration has red window panes, cab roof and cylinders fitted without the valve gear. Buffer beams are all present. Details like handrails, steps and front lights are missing. The right side has a larger cylinder than the left side. Printed into a black livery.

The left side of the locomotive. This side is almost the same at the moment, once details are added it will be different, but the cylinder on this side is a lot smaller as is prototypical.

Yeah my DS lite still works to this day, might even have some charge left in it, the hinge has a crack in it but apart from that. I think going all the way back to the GameBoy, Nintendo built their handhelds like bricks XD

Just found my brother's DS-i from like 2009 and tried to turn it on. Not only is the battery good, still powered on, but I could remove it using a couple of screws should it need replacing. Meanwhile my Iphone, from like 2020, is completely dead with no hope of fixing it without intense surgery...

I don't think I've mentioned it, but I'm working on an On18 shelf layout, so I can run trains when it's too hot in the garage to run the On30. (Here in Australia, the garage becomes an oven for half the year.) Here are some of the critters I've built so far. #modeltrains #modelrailroad #narrowgauge

A small diesel locomotive with the name 'Titan' is sitting on N gauge tracks. Behind it is an On30 scale center-cab whitcomb switcher.

A small critter, no. 103, is pushing a bulkhead flatcar.

A partially completed critter is sitting on a workbench. The cab and footplate are 3D printed resin in light grey, with some white plastic strips boosting the height of the cab. The hood is cut from a Bachmann 44-ton diesel locomotive.

Top tip for making model buildings - use the clear plastic film from a box of Tunnocks Teacakes to make the windows. Mostly because then eating a whole box of teacakes is necessary to the build, not just a side effect of the tea breaks...

I do believe my @doublem-models.bsky.social GVT Beyer Peacock tram is complete, may do a little weathering here and there to cover a few blemishes, as well as finish the interior of the cab, but otherwise all she needs is a chassis (Ignore the Wren)

Another update on the #3Dprinted Porter compressed air locomotive. I think i'm on the home stretch with the project. The motor seems to be running very nicely, I'll have some running shots of it soon once I've rebuilt the motor for the final time. It's just the final detail parts. #modelrailroad

Took Stepney to the club for chassis testing. He runs well forwards with a bit of a wobble but refuses to run well in reverse. The wheels also keep coming unscrewed from their axles so I’ll have to sort that out. However he’s coming together quite nicely, need to make lining transfers #modelrailroad
