A new report from 500+ neuroscientists lays out how heat, air pollution, and climate-driven food insecurity affect brain health across the lifespan. Only 3% of national climate plans mention mental health at all. I wrote up the findings: unthinkable.substack.com/p/your-brain-on-a-warming-planet

Disaster recovery is a second full-time job nobody trains you for. A year after the 2025 LA wildfires, 67% of survivors were still displaced; 73% named mental health stress their biggest challenge. New piece on what that data taught us: unthinkable.substack.com/p/disaster-recovery-is-a-full-time

8 months ago I had a baby. I also moved my family in a way that upended everything, went back to Stanford FT, and have been navigating the depths around my dear dad's Alzheimer's. So I've been quiet, but now I'm back. Today Unthinkable is back too — with a new shape to showcase agency and action.

Worth remembering that when activists pushed Biden to declare a climate emergency & use emergency powers to accelerate the clean energy transition, VSPs scolded them. Ha ha, that's crazy! Fun update: Trump has claimed emergency powers to substantially slow the transition & no one said shit.

Vienna has been dethroned. The new "world's most livable city" is [drum roll] Copenhagen, which was also, in a separate survey, recently ranked the world's happiest city. US cities basically do everything exactly the opposite of Copenhagen, which is why not a single US city is in the top ten.
