There is a problem with the stories we tell & the way we perceive how change happens. The Union of Pinnacle Tenants, the largest tenant-led union in NYC—are the reason Mamdani took action. Organized people power is pivotal. Top down stories of elected heroes (even ones we like) are not sufficient.

Figure skating was so big for me but I also fell off for many many years. Came back to it this year for some reason and Alyssa Liu is giving me life! As for odd, Goddard was an odd place but it taught me a lot and gave me the ability to envision different ways parents and communities could support learning. I understand that public education is under attack but I don't think that responding this way to people exploring alternatives is the way.

I'm for de-professionalizing many professions. It's not a devaluing of the skills of educators it's building a culture where these skills are valued so much that they are honed and become more common in communities building alternative structures of support.
