The problem with that is every step of the process of being an artist requires humanity. AI steals the results of others humanity, and regurgitates on a false gold platter for you to consume. Eating it ends up infecting and poisoning every aspect of your life.

Hey, it's my kitchen. If I want to whip up a batch of chorizo, mozzarella & corn enchiladas at 1am, there's no one to stop me.

The corner of a kitchen island, atop of which sits a blue casserole dish fresh out of the oven, itself full with enchiladas, though all there really is to see is melted cheese and corn. The tortillas appear crispy. There's also a pot of coffee next to the batch. A serving utensil sticks out from behind what presumably will be the first enchilada to be removed from the casserole dish. One can imagine a destination plate off camera that will receive the delicious offering. The lucky person to enjoy the meal is only implied by the narrative suggested in the main text body of this post to be the author, though not pictured. Editor's note: the person will, in fact, be the author.

The most prominent deterrent for growing my audience—witnessing that stage where content creators, who'd made intentional efforts to "connect" with a social media following, eventually resort to making content upset at the parasocial dynamics. You can't un-ring the bell of people "knowing" you.

If anyone needs anything from me, by way of music production, songwriting/composition, audio editing, etc., you have a very limited amount of time—less than 2 weeks—to hit me up before I'll be otherwise indisposed and effectively unavailable for any work requiring reliable concentration on projects.

What is it with audio mixing engineers and "saturation"!? Apparently it's this magic sauce that should warm up, thicken, and glue together your mix. Yet each time I attempt to apply some—I don't know, maybe it's the genres I work in?—it just adds gross crackling crispy junk, like I used bad cables.

One huge benefit to being a small independent artist is being able drop a new album,and still have the luxury of tweaking final mixes and doing a mastering revision, long after the release date. And not worrying that anyone could even notice. Which is to say, it's never too late for a first listen!

The conversation around AI replacing artists often centers on questions of whether a machine could ever truly understand beauty enough to replicate it, but that doesn't matter. The material reality of artistic labor means that the greatest harm these tools can do lies much further up the pipeline.
