So I thought today's Direct was fine, though a lot was stuff we kind of already knew was coming. These were my highlights though: - XC3 S2E info, namely the new Hero 👀 - Miis are in the background again in Switch Sports Resort! - I gotta catch up with Metroid now XP - Stoked for the new Kirby!

Considering the themes explored in the movie, it just makes it all the more sweeter to see Zaslav's efforts blow up in his face. Please go see it if you can. I also recommend seeing it in 4DX or any similar format. Definitely enhances the nature of a Looney Tunes film.

These two, easily: - Not backporting the TTGC QOL (i.e. No tutorials menu, fast traveling to unique monster spots) - Not re voicing any scenes that could have used them in English. It especially sucks after playing Momo's blade quest and remembering that XC1's bothered to voice all the H2Hs.

It's so frustrating that this was their one chance to fix one of the biggest long standing criticisms of the game, especially when this S2E could lead to more people trying out the game for the first time. Now we're indeed stuck with moments like Rex' Ch. 1 yell forever.

So after spending a bit in Xenoblade 2's S2E and finally rewatching a few cutscenes, I just want to blow off some steam that I am VERY disappointed that they didn't do a partial English redub, and that hasn't helped alongside how frame drops from 1's S2E remain in this one too.

Managed to beat Splatoon Raiders' story just in time for the Xenoblade 2 S2E to drop. Think I had like 10 minutes to spare, too. Definitely something worth jotting down.

Other than that, Fingers crossed my two most wanted things in the S2E are undocumented changes/additions, much like the additional field dialogue in XCDE's ended up being.

Thanks for reading if you made it here. I just wanted to shed light on the mystery if Al Weaver ever had a social, which I came upon during some old research, & seeing people still wonder about him. If y'all got any questions for what else I remember seeing on it, ask away. This got long as is.

I was very hesitant to post about this for a while, mainly because of being unsure how it'd look digging this up, yet I want to preserve some history. Especially when all of this is otherwise lost media (especially the deeper voice proof). I think that's what matters more here.

Bottom line, Al Weaver def got done dirty, but how it seemed reflected on his Insta went unnoticed for a long time, & it felt like only I knew. I can only hope what's in the S2E's got something to prove more of his improved chops, especially after Smash and FR denied him that twice already.

I know we still have whatever happens in Momo's blade quest cutscenes, but we don't know what's gonna happen in it, & I can only hope they thought to do more voicework than just that for the English cast. It'd suck to forever have stuff like the infamous ch 1 yell, yknow?

Finally, so why bring this up? It's because I feel like XC2S2E is potentially the last chance to see him extensively voice Rex again outside of a future Smash, especially when QOL and re-voiced action scenes (my two most wanted things) are looking dicey right now.

Last thing worth sharing about the Insta page, but it's actually hard to say if Xenoblade was why he nuked it, because I learned in that same research that his role in this show called Grantchester is a really popular one. Glad to see he's got a role where he's loved, at least.

I thought of those videos again when I learned they didn't get him back for Future Redeemed. I know said clip isn't much, but believe me as someone who did see those videos when they were up: I genuinely think he absolutely could have done Older Rex. It sucks they didn't seem to try that first.

If there's one thing I sorely wish I saved, it's two videos where he extensively put on a Batman impression, hiding his accent & all. All I've got is a scrap from when I was preparing to use another thing as b-roll. It's a big damn shame both full videos are lost media, next tweet is why.

I do remember seeing some positive comments from others that brought up Xenoblade on some then-recent posts, but I sadly never took any screenshots of them, since I never expected him to nuke his Insta. I can only wonder if he did post about XC2 when the game was new.

The saddest thing that I found while researching this page is that by the time I found it, there was zero mention of Xenoblade on it, yet he still posted about other things he was in at the time. It's speculative, but this likely could mean he was affected by the hate from meaner fans. :(

I only have scraps from a scroll through that went unused as b-roll in a video essay that I published in early 2022, but now I really wish I grabbed more since he'd later nuke it, which coincidentally happened in late 2022. They were taken in 2021 when said VE was being made.
