fun fact: in 1992, berkley replaced columbus day with Indigenous Peoples day. then no other city or state did until 2014,when i was a policy aide for Alondra Cano and some friends and i convinced her to pass the resolution in Minneapolis. i got to write it and plan the celebration.

Happy we moved to a permanent plot at the community garden, because the seasonal plots will end next weekend but we still have tomatoes and zucchini growing, and first frost is still a ways off (in theory).

After about 90 minutes in line, @joelaha.bsky.social & I made it into the Agriculture & Horticulture building for the Minnesota State Fair’s Crop Art. Each year’s crop art reflects a bit of the zeitgeist. This year, the theme was very clearly “Fuck ICE”.
