If someone is concerned about the risk to pedestrians from e-bikes, e-motos, and scooters, but doesn't support taking away space from cars to build safer micro-mobility infrastructure then I would question their commitment to safety

If we bought a few less bombs, we could probably afford nice things. One thing I'd like to see from the next presidency would be to appoint a special commission to prepare a report on the actual cost to defend the United States from attack. Not foreign wars. Just the cost to defend this country.

The experience absolutely matters. I could walk hours down a bustling pedestrian-oriented commercial street or a tree-lined urban residential street but only like 5 minutes (willingly) down a wide stroad with huge parking lots in front of every building.
