After growing up during the height of the console wars I never thought there'd come a time where I'd grow to despise Sony and Microsoft equally but here we are I guess 🤷 Only solution is to play more indies!

Anytime I have to boot into windows for the one or two tasks I can't easily perform on Linux, I'm almost instantly reminded of how miserable an experience it is. God I wish we could get that rock solid Davinci Resolve Linux version.

I went roller skating a couple months ago. I wore this fit that I was really kind of self conscious about, but I thought it looked nice so I wore it. Halfway through the night this random dude rides past me and says, "I fuck with the polo, gang" I've thought about that at least once a week since.

So far Bluesky seems to be the only place I've found on the Internet that seems to almost unanimously be pretty against Grand Theft Auto 6. Everywhere else I go and everyone I meet irl is so hyped they can't think about anything else. What's the beef?

The gulf in quality between Halo Campaign Evolved's remade original campaign and the new bonus missions they created from scratch is so vast that it feels like two different games. The old stuff is really solid but the new stuff misses the mark so spectacularly that it's actually impressive.

Starting the process of switching from Unity to Godot! My only problem is I don't know how much trouble I'm going to have learning the node system as opposed to Unity's scene hierarchy system. I just want to get into a scene, place my meshes, apply my materials, and set up my lighting without issue.

YES! Fucking PREACH

Your favorite modern game has its roots in an older one, and despite the fears perpetuated by view-seeking YouTubers, games released in the 20th century are not “unplayable” because there might be some slowdown or you aren’t used to the controls of a less-defined era — seek out those roots, explore them, learn about the origins of a genre or a series or the art form itself by doing so. Are Nintendo 64 games aging like milk, or are you playing them in the wrong context, with the wrong controller, and coming away with the wrong impression because of it? Was the Sega Saturn a failed system because of a lack of games, or because it featured stunning 32-bit 2D art at the exact wrong time in history, with the vast majority of its library — 775 of 1,028 games — releasing exclusively in Japan rather than worldwide? It might not have the quantity of the PlayStation, which sold over 10 times as many consoles as the Saturn managed and therefore kept getting the lion’s share of new releases and development attention, but what’s there is a joy.

In a modern PC market with inflated prices of RAM, SSDs, and whatnot due to AI data centers, the Steam Machine price is actually a pretty sweet deal! But that doesn't change the fact that it's still a thousand dollars with no controller. But then again, nothing is really affordable right now. 🙃
