I agree with your review. The best parts of the game is the components for the full game. I played it the Maximum Chrome version last weekend again and I still love the chaos. We tend to die fast in this game so maybe a hybrid use of maybe 1 pit stop would be fun.

A linguist friend told me a bit of interesting trivia the other day. In Latin, the 'vir' in Triumvirate (a political commission of three men in Ancient Rome) is a cognate of the Old English 'were', a term for an adult male human, which also forms part of the compound word 'werewolf' or man-wolf.

Played a 5 player game of Thunder Road Vendetta Maximum Chrome from @restorationgames.bsky.social and just had 4 players eliminated simultaneously due to Quake...it's the first time our group has ever clapped for an ending of a game. That was hilarious, the 5th player...me... was KO'd just before.

Key thing being, there's two separate industries here. Each makes games for people who simply don't care about the other. They're all "board games," but I think people mistakenly think that one is a gateway towards the other. And it just doesn't have to be. It's cool if these don't intermix.
