In 1988, 28 year old Nigel inherited Lower Loxley. Four years later, he employed 25 year old Elizabeth as his marketing manager. Both had a chequered employed history and neither had any previous experience in estate management, but they made it a huge success. Improbable plots now? 😄 #TheArchers

The operation after she had the twins was for a leaky heart valve. The defibrillator implant was later, a few months after Nigel died. She hasn't had any problems since then. #TheArchers

Agree, except I don't think Freddie is currently capable of putting such a plan together without help. Perhaps Lily would be willing to help him, or Fallon. Or perhaps Chelsea... 🤔💘😊 #TheArchers

I don't think Freddie is ready. But a) Nigel wasn't either, and b) Elizabeth has done nothing to rectify that situation. He would need to appoint a good manager. Agree about the independent legal advice. #TheArchers

Don't entirely agree about Vince. I'm not sure why he's with Elizabeth. But he does seem to be trying to do something to help & encourage Freddie, unlike his relentlessly negative mother. #TheArchers

It is odd. I found it odder that Lower Loxley, a wedding venue, doesn't seem to have an established back-up plan in case of bad weather, rather than all these adhoc sounding arrangements. It can piss down & blow a gale in June! #TheArchers

So they were able to build up a business from nothing, despite no previous relevant experience. But Elizabeth thinks Freddie, with some, albeit limited, management experience can't take it on as a going concern with her support. #TheArchers

Just relistened to the conversation between Freddie & Elizabeth about the Herrick(sp?) Hall job. He clearly wasn't qualified for the role, but there was a way Elizabeth could've explained that without being entirely negative & dismissive. #TheArchers

Not necessarily. Nigel's maternal grandfather was a greengrocer & his mother Julia (originally Joan) was an actress before meeting Gerald Pargetter. Elizabeth was from more humble origins than Nigel. The SWs like repeating things. #TheArchers

Elizabeth has an assistant manager (Trent?). The Orangery, the gift shop and possibly other parts have their own managers. The vineyard is practically a separate busines. #TheArchers

Two daughters and a son. Eleanor, James & Olivia. He is estranged from the younger two. I think Simon lives in France. Eleanor, who he does get on with, lives in New York. I think he'll probably split his estate 3 ways, despite the estrangement. Then they'll sell up. #TheArchers

Vince started well, but made the mistake of bringing Elizabeth into it ("Your mother thinks...") If he hadn't done that, they would probably have had a sensible conversation about management training, without Freddie going off on one. Neither of them came out well from that conversation. #TheArchers

He was barely older than Freddie is now when he took over Lower Loxley. I wasn't listening back then so I can't really comment on his maturity, but some of the things I've heard he got up to don't sound very mature. #TheArchers

And us. We moved into this house on a Friday. The following Monday the small company where Mrs S worked declared bankruptcy. I was a full-time mum at the time. Fortunately he got another job fairly quickly. It was worrying, but no regrets, we've been happy here for nearly 30 years. #TheArchers
