In good news, I've made huge progress on my Ren faire/Halloween outfit. It's technically wearable at this stage, but I want to cover the entire thing in scraps eventually, as well as way more trinkets/charms. And maybe add a hood.

My instance was my mom's dog, who has a bite history. We thought we'd figured out the triggers. We had not.

Its truly comedic at this point

im in a fucking slapstick film got a flat on the highway struggled for an hour to replace it (the lug nuts were way too tight and its been years since i've changed a tire) re-opened the wound from the dog bite hobbled in, started to look up places to replace tires I've somehow cracked my phone

my stance on fantasy vs sci-fi is that i think these are aesthetic labels that have gotten so broad that they're barely informative at all. the real slop genre is orc fiction. if there's an archetypal "orc species," a nuance-free inherently evil group of morally uncomplicated enemies, it's slop.

Also, while we are on the subject, historically, #witchhunts targeted the disenfranchised in history. Women, the very poor, the disabled, the elderly, the social outcast. Vulnerable populations were who, the majority of the time, got accused of witchcraft. 1/

When I lost my job, about 2 weeks from my birthday (I think?), a friend was telling some of us how, astrologically, 27 was a year of great change for folks. As in extremely tumultuous. I kinda laughed it off. WELL...

No. Most of them are just suffering. Trying to survive. It blows. I didn't realize how bad it was until I moved away and saw it didn't have to be that way.

As someone currently in FL against my will: This place fucking blows. Its only saving grace is the people (most of them). They are folks trying their absolute best everyday in a state that wants them dead, where everything is consumed by mold, sweat and heat.
