Digital rights activists have long railed at the use of the term "IP," criticizing it for being deceptively imprecise and also rhetorically dishonest. I get where these objections are coming from, but I think they're misguided.

Bullshit headline set in the present when the "evidence" in the article are two opinion surveys (NOT STUDIES) that ask "experts" if sentient "A.i." might be created in the FUTURE. This is like writing "ARE HUMANS ON MARS?" No. We are not on Mars and "A.i." is not sentient.

There's plenty of reasons to be skeptical of centrists who bemoan "political polarization" and call for a politics that abandons the "tribalism of left and right." 1/

The icy chamber at the center of Dante's hell, dominated by Satan, massive and peering around with his chin propped on his elbows, which rest of the ice-sheet. From the ceiling of the chamber dangles a massive, decapitated head, suspended by the hair. Beneath it is a pile of corpses in middle ages armor. On the opposite side of the chamber stands a suburban housing plot; another group of (living) soldiers in armour aim a giant catapult at it.
