$1.4 trillion valuation, and their business model is: "Yeah exactly, that! Let's go with that, totally my idea anyway."

Deflation doesn't mean recession I looked at the 30 largest economies in the world over the last 30 years, about 900 data points. Within that data set, there were 66 years of deflation. The median RGDP growth rate? 1.65%. Economies grew in 46 of 66 years

The Major Social Media Platforms Are All Rejecting Paid Ads for Alex Gibney’s ‘Musk’ (Exclusive)
YouTube, TikTok and Meta have all turned down the trailer for the Oct. 9 doc, citing “political” content. X won't even take Bleecker Street's calls. The distributor is appealing.

Supply shocks, demand spikes, and credit expansion drive inflation. Sustained high nominal corporate profits are a natural result of currency debasement or distorted price signals, not a sudden surge in human "greed."

same. Democracy only functions well when it is embedded in a liberal constitution. And such a constitution is only accepted in a liberal society.

So am I getting it right, it is not QE, it is literally government buying long term debt with short term debt? And maybe as a follow up question: How stupid can it get?

Prices have a signaling function. Rising prices can be a good signal; high demand, consumer confidence, full order books, production capacity, etc. However, monetary policy-induced price increases, and thus the disruption of price's signaling function, are always bad. Always.

If everything can be a weapon, then perhaps society as a whole is sick. [without wanting to get into a "freedom vs. security" debate.]

Everytime: Sell you a “wealth tax on billionaires,” then hand you a surtax on income. Real balance-sheet wealth stays untouched while earned cash flow gets taxed. It’s the ultimate political bait-and-switch, and business owners pays the bill in the end. Lefts try it every time. 🎯

Repeat after me: 👏It is a Billionaire's fault that I am poor. 👏I only feel poor because I exist in relation to a Billionaire. 👏My life magically improves the moment a Billionaire stops existing.

The whole story of the left wing is feeling entitled to outcomes they haven't earned, masking deep-seated insecurity behind a wall of moral superiority, and finding successful people to punish for their own weaknesses, no matter how many times it ends badly for everyone.

The author is apparently an idiot. "I’ve previously calculated the net profit for one Model Y to be in the range of $67,081 per year." .. lol And "...reported incidents where cars just get stuck. It appears to be more of a software issue than anything else." Oh please just shut up..

Caiming that some super-rich people are buying up all our houses, food or whatever is just populist bullshit. The reason we cannot afford grandmother's house is because everyone's real wages have stagnated for decades, or have probably even been declining while credit inflated asset prices boom.

I love how mainstream economists always treat inflation like an exogenous natural disaster. "An unpredictable-uncontrollable event" Fascinating how they blame everything except the historic expansion of the monetary base. Diluting a currency is not a magical causes!
