I'm missing two early-season home games for things with my eldest (college freshman this year) and…honestly? I'm fine saving more of the in-person game time for when it cools off a bit. 5 hours outside in September in Texas is too many hours.

@marcoarment.bsky.social I'm like a week in with Unforgetful now, and so far it feels like it's the first task app I'm leaning further *into* over time rather than burning out of. No idea what this says about my undiagnosed…whatever.

Just finished my first-ever rewatch of Slow Horses, in preparation for the new season dropping soon, and got my wife hooked along for this go-through. Let me tell you something, this show is *peak* premium TV, and Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb might be the pinnacle of a truly stellar career.

I've seen the trailer a million times, but thanks to you just read the premise…and am immeasurably worse off for it.

growing up around them, i sorta always assumed the vibes were trash behind the curtain for some reason. think I've just known enough deep south guys who had some business success, maybe?

Every so often, I stop and marvel that Vince Gilligan took a spinoff of a cheeseball lawyer supporting character from a show about an unlikely drug kingpin…and make it into one of the most compelling, most human stories of all time.

had a neighbor kick a ball into my yard the other week, didn't notice for a few days…until I found it, surrounded by a small patch of taller grass where the mower went around it.

Oh for most modern ones (like mine) there's no guidewire. It's just GPS and lidar. You drive it around like an RC car at setup to map an area (and no-go zones) then when it runs, it detects/goes around furniture, concrete pads, kids' toys, whatever in the work area.

There are lots of good brands/options. None of 'em are cheap, but my yard looks way better than it ever has and I neither have an ongoing service cost nor have to spend my weekends doing it myself. Feels like a win to me!

That one is a Mammotion Luba Mini 2 (got it from them to test after 2 years on an older full-size Luba). I had some weirdness during the early beta versions on it, but it's been rock-solid for me since release…. …though there are plenty of people on the subreddit with less-pleasant notes.

I've had a lawn mower bot for kind of a while now, running on a schedule 3x weekly in the back yard. Don't think I'll ever get used to my yard just…looking trimmed, all the time (don't you dare look at the edges I KNOW I need to do that still)

anecdotally, after many dogs in my life, the one that leaves barely any impact is our current one — a hound with fairly short, wiry hair. (I do NOT recommend anything with soft fluffy hair if this is your concern)

to be fair, sometimes D&Bs will let you put just a few tokens in and get a whole lot back, so it's really an apt study.

someone looked at a burrito and said "no, this is *TOO* well designed to contain ingredients while being eaten. We must fix this."
