I am forty-<redacted> years old and just learned from a football broadcasting crew that the city in Arizona is actually pronounced "temp-EE"

@marcoarment.bsky.social I'm like a week in with Unforgetful now, and so far it feels like it's the first task app I'm leaning further *into* over time rather than burning out of. No idea what this says about my undiagnosed…whatever.

Just finished my first-ever rewatch of Slow Horses, in preparation for the new season dropping soon, and got my wife hooked along for this go-through. Let me tell you something, this show is *peak* premium TV, and Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb might be the pinnacle of a truly stellar career.

Every so often, I stop and marvel that Vince Gilligan took a spinoff of a cheeseball lawyer supporting character from a show about an unlikely drug kingpin…and make it into one of the most compelling, most human stories of all time.

Ok, I'm calling it — Strange New Worlds has gone way off the deep end with the gimmicks.

I've had a lawn mower bot for kind of a while now, running on a schedule 3x weekly in the back yard. Don't think I'll ever get used to my yard just…looking trimmed, all the time (don't you dare look at the edges I KNOW I need to do that still)

The first time I heard of Poldark (the show), for reasons I truly can't explain, I got it in my head that he was some sort of detective or private investigator. Anyway, now we're watching it and there is an apalling lack of crime solving by the eponymous character.

I am well aware just how late I am to this party. but Peaky Blinders is hands-down the best role Tom Hardy has ever had and I could watch him in it until the sun fades to nothing.

While I do agree that datetime and time zones can be quite challenging at times…promising to delivery my order 8 days before I ordered it seems a bit optimistic.

An order screen from the Chuys restaurant website, estimating that an order will be delivered from -11,525 to -11,510 minutes from when the order is placed.

There’s a proposition in my city to allow a company to put up digital billboards and the “how they advertise vs what the vote is” is just…a wild schism.

A photograph of two mailed postcards encouraging a YES vote on Prop A, with claims that it will reduce crime and improve traffic safety in Round Rock, TX, but without every specifying what Prop A actually does.

The literal text of Prop A, just allowing for digital signage and requiring it “prioritize public safety messaging”:

PROPOSITION A
SHALL THE HOME RULE CHARTER OF THE
CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, BE AMENDED
TO ADD SECTION 14.16 TO ARTICLE 14 TO
ALLOW UP TO TWELVE (12) PRIVATELY
OWNED, OPERATED, AND FUNDED
FREESTANDING OFF-PREMISE DOUBLE-
FACED ELECTRONIC MESSAGE CENTERS
LOCATED ON PRIVATE PROPERTY ADJACENT
TO INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 35 AND STATE
HIGHWAY 45 WITHIN THE CITY AND ITS
EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION; REQUIRE
PRIORITY PUBLIC SAFETY MESSAGING; AND
LIMIT REGULATION OF LOCATION, SIZE, AND
SPACING TO STANDARDS ADOPTED BY THE
TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION?

I’m not saying anything much more-informed people aren’t, but the rapid erosion of the ability to trust the federal government’s medical agencies as unbiased and scientific will do untold damage that takes decades to repair. I’m tired.
