Trying to get back to work on BlamPow again. Publishing these lexicons are a big first step! Heavily inspired by @standard.site.

With atproto spaces it’s possible to make drafts, settings and such a private single-tenant space where only the author has access. Could a standardized private space for notifications exist? So any authenticated appview can store notifications into a single “notification center”.

Tooltips should be visually different. Give them little word balloon tails. Semi-transparent backgrounds. Anything but the same styling as your buttons.

I think it was Erik Larsen that said that making a comic is so extremely difficult that it’s a miracle that they exist and that every issue is a struggle. This is a massive accomplishment! Congratulations!!

Seeing this month's "who is hiring" post on HN, I had a fun idea to visualize the data points over the years as I expected them to be a nice visualization of the current market in tech. Earlier this year was the first month ever in which less people posted jobs than wanted to be hired 🫠
A graph showing the relation between job-seeker posts and job posts on HN per month since 2014 (seeking divided by offering). The ratio between seekers and offers was about 0.4ish for a few years, briefly peaked to about 0.9 in 2020 before dropping back down, and sharpy started rising again in 2023, with the highest ever ratio of about 1.2 last month. The graph shows two lines, one for offers and one for seekers. Job postings have noticably gone down and seekers up, with the lines crossing for the first time ever this year (more seekers than offers).

It would be up to each app view how much of these lexicons they’d want to implement. I’ve probably gone overboard but I think process layers especially would be awesome to peal back the layers of an artists process with the added benefit of keeping ai art slop out.

There’s a lot of moving parts. A Series definition for title, banner blob, description, format, etc. Vertical format has chapters with slices with optional alt tags, languages and process blobs. Paged format (not sure about that name) would have chapters with pages with panels…

I’d love help! I’ll push a public git repo of the current lexicons later today. It feels wrong to have all of the lexicons be app.blampow.* namespaced. I’d rather have an interoperable standard like @standard.site where people aren’t locked into a single app view and can take their work anywhere.

I've been working on a webtoons but atproto app in my free time. I'm starting to think I'm being overly ambitious with my mvp. 🫣 It's way more work than I originally expected.
