I have these. Hold the gold bits on both sides of the door with your finger-tips (for grip), one with each hand. Push them towards each other hard, and twist the one in your dominant hand counter-clockwise. It's a bit spring-loaded. The screws holding the knob on are under these plates.

Each graph contains averages, with no questions about how different groups are affected. For example, what if all the 'luxury spending' is coming from a relatively small number of people? Legit question, seeking clarity.

Personal and biometric data stored on Patronscan platform for 30 days then automatically deleted unless a patron has been flagged for bad behavior, “like fighting or stealing,” in which case it’s stored indefinitely. It's really not good to have lists of gay people. sf.gazetteer.co/why-do-these...

Why do these Castro gay bars have TSA-style face scanners?
A handful of neighborhood bars have installed facial recognition devices that collect and share customers’ names, addresses, genders, and indiscretions with each other

@alanaustin.bsky.social Factual national averages are so much better than emotive nonsense, so thanks for this. Question tho: means and medians abound, but what are the modes of Aus life? I find it hard to get graphs of how Aus has changed over 20 years, and what our inequalities are now.

Good News! Rare bipartisan support for US housing bill. Australia take note - they're tackling supply! Reduce fed. regulations, streamline environmental reviews, speed up construction process, limit corporations' ability to purchase single-family homes. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

I just voted YES on the biggest housing bill in more than 30 years. This bill will boost housing supply, bring down costs, and — for the first time ever — stop private equity from buying up single-family homes.

Honestly I've been wondering about the timing of those cash-generating IPOs, and Warren Buffet has dumped stock since last year - maybe that's because he's near retirement, or... will have plenty of money to buy distressed businesses?

Hi Tim, DRM is Digital Rights Management - a copyright lock on a digital file. Most ebooks can only be read on a certain device / with a certain app / when logged in to a particular site. A file with .epub on the end is sometimes, but not always, unlocked so you can choose where to read it.
