Marlene is a Haitian immigrant, brought over as a toddler. America is the only home she has known. She was adopted by a neglectful family who never got her citizenship. In July 27th, alongside 350,000 other Haitians, she Lost her IPS status. Since then, she Legally cannot work. She is a queer woman living in Philadelphia.She & her 2 cats, Mango & Rajah have been struggling to make ends meet. Currently, she is fighting an eviction but she needs our help.
An eviction *could* get her deported to country she hasn't known since infancy.

Maybe! I'm ready to read/watch an investigative report on beverage cartons now. I suspect the plastic (oil) lobby told us everything would be fresher on the other side and we just went with it, even tho pasteurization and refrigeration are probably still doing the heavy lifting wrt freshness.

they can mark up the price higher on a plastic lid carton tho, so it covers the cost and then some. I buy oat milk tho so idk what dairy prices have been doing, besides everything being more expensive all the time

I am always trying to make low/no plastic choices while shopping, anyway. Would be nice to see those old fashioned cartons come back for beverage products.

Honestly it's probably more of a consumer perception thing, and companies provide it due to consumer preference and the ubiquity of similar packaging. Do we actually know whether the plastic keeps it fresher or do we just assume that?
