We spent two weekends last month learning how to use these items and talking about climate change and how we can reject dominant narratives about how we need to live. We're having a community show and tell in October to share what we're up to.

I know it's futile to keep having this argument but I just want some honesty about what "he needs to win in Texas" means. It means anti-trans pledges will win more votes than they lose. And if you're comfortable with that then you should be comfortable with the idea that he will lose *some* votes.

Friday morning, I was gardening when I checked my phone. A request had gone out for help. For 25+ hours, ICE had been laying siege to a quiet neighborhood in Frederick, MD. Community members were afraid, some didn’t want to leave their homes. ICE vehicles seemed to be lurking on every corner.
ICE vehicle - black Nissan Maxima with plate cover - posted up in a spot that also serves as an elementary school bus stop. Another ICE vehicle, black Dodge Durango, lurking around the community. Two more ICE vehicles - black Dodge Durango and a white SUV, unclear on make, model - on a quiet residential street, being quietly creepy. Note that the white SUV has its plate covered. Yet another ICE vehicle. Black Nissan Pathfinder. They were all over the neighborhood.

Another day, another impeachable offense: The White House ordered federal agencies to block resources to Colorado because it had punished an election denier. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/14/u...
As President Trump fumed late last year over Colorado's imprisonment of Tina Peters, a convicted election denier, a White House special assistant organized an urgent "brainstorm call."
The goal, outlined in an email sent to officials at five federal agencies, was to "prioritize Colorado for the purposes of ensuring grants and federal support are in line with administration priorities," the assistant, Emily Underwood, wrote on Dec.
15.
"Please come prepared to discuss immediate actions that your department or agency can take with respect to Colorado," Ms. Underwood added.
The next day, the Department of Transportation and the Department of Energy, whose representatives were invited to the brainstorm, announced they were canceling hundreds of millions of dollars in federal grants for Colorado projects.

All users have decision making power in our development process. We're still dialing in how much training and opportunities needed to make that accessible. For many organizations, they don't have the time to be very involved. For those who want more, we're working on a path to ownership.

We started out thinking these two COULD be the same, inviting all users to be owners. That was too complex for us to navigate. We ended up narrowing down to a values & geographically aligned group of owners/users.

'When we talk about the “value” we deliver, we are really talking about two different things: the value of the product to the customer who will buy it, and the value of the product to the employer for whom we are making it. ' At Rootable, we are playing with these two groups being almost the same.
