I really like all three new #Strictly presenters. I must admit, Josh was the one that I feared for the most but he's ace! He has comic timing, can think on his feet, and is clearly having a brilliant time!

And despite the changes, the main ingredients of #Strictly are still there: joy, commitment, encouragement, folk giving it a go, silliness, lovable shonkiness, spectacle - what's not to love?

Fucking all in on #Strictly and I've only watched Will Best's dance so far. The pros have long been the real celebs of the show, so I don't give a shit that I barely know who the supposed celebs are!

Many thanks to Stuart Kelly for this wonderful review of A Home in Space – “a necessary joy” – in The Scotsman yesterday, alongside a fabulous selection of Scottish poetry by Colin Bramwell, Kristján Norge and the late, great John Burnside. @essencepress.bsky.social @gregchthomas.bsky.social
A Home in Space, a collection of Morgan’s more esoteric works – “selected concrete, visual and sound poetry” – is a necessary joy. Although some have been printed before, to see them in the original typewriter form is a wonderful harking back to when innovation did not mean clicking home / font / 14 point. There is an edginess that is in his more well known work; a sense of the glimpse and the overlooked being significant. [...] The editors, Julie Johnstone and Greg Thomas, should be commended for a book that is as beautiful as it is necessary, and which underlines how the avant-garde – Morgan, Hamilton Finlay, Riddell, Forrest-Thomas, WS Graham – was fundamental to Scottish poetics.

Love
by Edwin Morgan

Love rules. Love laughs. Love marches. Love is the wolf that guards the gate.
Love is the food of music, art, poetry. It fills us and fuels us and fires us to create.
Love is terror. Love is sweat. Love is bashed pillow, crumpled sheet, unenviable fate.
Love is the honour that kills and saves and nothing will ever let that high ambiguity abate.
Love is the crushed ice that tingles and shivers and clinks fidgin-fain for the sugar-drenched absinthe to fall on it and alter its state.
With love you send a probe
So far from the globe
No one can name the shoals the voids the belts the zones the drags the flares it signals all to leave all and to navigate.
