Unfortunately probably not for a while. I’m still needing to gather more books before the search ranking would be of any use. The more people use it the better it should get though!

I’m confused binary based matching is for KOSync, which is for syncing across devices not OPDS (which is for downloading books). What issues are you seeing specifically? Sending file metadata (an option in KOReader) should be turned on to better match to a book in BookHive but it’s not guaranteed

I’ve not seen this before. I’m unsure what it could be. I wrote the server against the spec so it should work 🤷‍♂️ If you could get a more specific error message that would be helpful.

Sourced from Goodreads. I don’t want to take on the moderation of adding new books. I’m working on a new community book lexicon that should help: nick-the-sick.pckt.blog/road-to-a-bo...

Don't worry guys, Part 2 is here: Houston, we've got a book & review lexicon! I don't think it is in it's final shape just yet, but I believe it to be a strong proposal, and well justified if I may say so, myself 😌

Appreciate it, no worries, I’m clearly not attached to the code. This project is more of a statement and idea than anything.

Sorry about your experience with my code. I'll do better. It's not to my standards either, but its hard justifying the amount of time that I spend on this as is. But that's just an excuse. Thanks for contributing!

In the KOReader settings in Readest, you'll need to check "Send document metadata" for it to send the title and author of the book. This is for privacy reasons since the default KOSync server is public with open registration

Goodreads would have almost 1:1 import of books so yes it would be better. You can match them later since the import can be done multiple times. I try to auto match books behind the scenes but if it is not 100% perfect then I fallback to the book matching screen.

I’ve not introduced it because it becomes a moderation burden to deal with. With the new shared book lexicon that I’m working on, it should be a little easier but not perfect.

I've been thinking a lot about how to define a shared book lexicon for the Lexicon Community Working Group: discourse.atmosphere.community/t/in-which-a... But, instead wrote a treatise against ISBNs. I hope I can link to it whenever someone asks why their import didn't work on @bookhive.buzz 😝

I don’t have a Kobo ereader to know but BookHive has KOReader sync and OPDS support. I think kobo would have OPDS support. It would allow you to upload books on bookhive, match them to BookHive books and synchronize progress across ereaders and to BookHive

The Design Philosophy of BookHive
This is a write up of the talk that I did at ATmosphereConf 2026 in Vancouver on March 29th, 2026. You can watch the presentation here: What ATProto represents is a trend reversal, the web started as open, and became progressively more closed down. There has been multiple attempts of this, but none have garnered this much traction, let’s leverage it! But, of course that is part of why you are all here, to see an open web, based on user agency. I think we often forget that the web came with this ...

Yea, I'd like to try to avoid having to build out WebDAV support, just for this one reader. Maybe you can petition Moon+ to adopt KOSync, it really is a simple protocol!

I've gone ahead and bridged the book for you on the database side, but it looks like there was a bug in bookhive that caused it to not be linked. Was to do with the order that you had added to your library first, then tried to sync (I only ever tried the other way around).

It’s an e-book library management protocol. So you can store an EPUB file to BookHive and it can then have a server which will serve that to client applications with things like metadata management and folders handled for you. Mostly useful when you want to share the same book across e-readers

They are linked, if you update KOSync progress it will update your book with the progress you just posted
