Today was my first time playing in this league as I’m on the spare list for the season. First half of the game was great! Then one of the lads on the other team fell and cranked his head on the ice.. so that was the end of the game. Remember friends: be careful on the curling ice around the rocks!

After a month of fermenting, today was processing day for the jalapeños. Surprisingly spicy for just jalapeños! But if I might say, it’s dang tasty.

Next week brings frost-level overnight temps so the remaining peppers will have to be harvested. You may ask why I grew Carolina Reapers? I’m not quite sure myself, but sure as shit I’m gonna make some hot sauce to see how much I can burn myself. For funzies, of course.

Gonna pat myself on the back here for a moment - at today’s swim I finally figured out a key piece of technique and increased my total distance by 33% and decreased my 100m pace by 15 seconds. Feeling pretty chuffed (and way less sore than usual!)

Tuesday ended up being a 15-hour day… and the worst part was it took me a couple of hours to fall asleep when I finally got home. Also, after a couple months away I somehow forgot a harsh lesson about never being in a hurry when you’re using a mandolin…

My garlic chives didn’t flower last year but buoy oh buoy are they going off this year. Many things planned, including in hot sauce, vinegar, oil, salt, pickles, etc etc (I feel bad taking them away from the bees but alas)
