Businesses who have invested in infill projects that they are no longer allowed to build would be a good place to start, at least from a getting the UCP's attention perspective. They have a quantifiable loss and they're a business. The UCP loves (or at least claims to) businesses.

I dunno, I've worn short socks in my ski boots before. It's not the end of the world if your boots fit.

Half of the appeal of the Thunder Run as a child was that it was so big it had to exit the building. Sad day to hear that it'll be fully enclosed.

The art is kinda reminiscent of one of the old Mad Magazine artists. Maybe Sergio Aragones?

About 10 years ago my wife was sent home after a c-section with a bottle of hydromorphone, like a 15 day supply. Luckily her pain wasn’t too bad so she never really dipped into them but a couple days later when the home care nurse visited she was shocked by what and how much they prescribed.

Even with the sadness that comes with never seeing someone again, I still love those ephemeral childhood friendships. As Chili says, sometimes people come into our lives, stay for a bit, then leave. Part of the human experience.

I think that's the same stuff as the house branded lube at a large bike shop in town. Good stuff, I've been using it for years and I'm glad to see they're getting wider distribution.

I think they'd be perfectly fine or even better than fine with teen pregnancies if the pregnant teens were married to a man.

We need to make driving residential streets harrowing to drivers. Expand sidewalks into the streets, narrowing driving lanes, curb bulbs on every intersection, throw in some cobbles or strategically unrepaired potholes. Basically make our residential streets like driving in an old town in Europe.

Yeah, but that would mean that poor people could live longer too, which I imagine is a problem for these fucks.

I wonder how they intend on doing that? No matter the mechanism, this phrasing is pretty sus, to put it lightly.

There’s a daycare in the base of my 52 floor office building downtown and I absolutely love seeing all the kids being picked up my their parents on the way home. A lawyer in a suit, carrying a tiny pink backpack as a preschooler walks carefully to avoid off colored tiles on the floor. Makes my day.

Sex ed in my Canadian province starts in grade 4 and continues all the way until grade 11, where it's included in a "life management" class. Same class teaches you how to write a resume and file taxes. Early years are pretty much just learning names and hygiene.

I've just now seen on a different platform that the new owners are not related to his family. Paul's family runs another pizza place in Airdrie and by all accounts are good people.

Matt Robinson @bobattt.bsky.social · 14/04/2026
Paul's Pizza is an Airdrie-based chain that the original owner (Paul) sold years ago. The new owners (might be his son, I'm unsure) really fell in with the convoy crowd during Covid and loves making rage-bait on Facebook. Lots of anti-trans stuff too. So no surprise that they're supporting the UCP.

Could also be Billings, Missoula or Great Falls. Maybe Butte. Butte’s probably the scariest, but that’s more for the toxic pit mine than anything this guy’s afraid of.

I'm not a doctor, but our pediatrician advised in 2018 that it was normal for a kid to be some degree of "sick" for 3/5 of the first couple years of congregate care (daycare/school).

As someone with (currently well-managed) MS who lives in Alberta, this is disheartening. I'd like to be allowed to end my life in dignity should my (incurable) disease progress to a point where my quality of life is awful yet death is not reasonably foreseeable.

That's kinda like this one. At like $45 CAD it's extremely mediocre and largely marketed by the distressed bottle and fancy region
La Fiole du Pape Chateauneuf du Pape. A French wine that comes in a pre-distressed, "dusty" bottle. Kinda like the wine version of distressed jeans.
