These are the last art supplies I wanted to try out with playing Color Jam! My first time using tempura sticks. They’re kinda like oily feeling (smooth) crayons. I purposely didn’t pick green for the color palette on this one and decided to do autumn colors for the leaves on the trees!

Finished game of Color Jam. It’s a coloring page of a torii gate with a kitsune (fox) in front of it. Tempura paint sticks used - lifht blue, orange, brown, yellow, pink, and red.

Today’s marker test: Crayola bold & bright. They worked better than the glitter ones (they actually lasted long enough to color the whole page). But they work on light and dark, which means it’s more obvious when I go over the lines 😅 Anyway, this one was fun and I’m proud of my magician stuff!

Gulo Gulo (review copy from @pandasaurusgames.com) is a dexterity game that’s great to play with kids because the dexterity part is actually easier for them than for adults! Unfortunately, my kids didn’t like it (although after filming this one has asked to play more). Here’s my overview video!

The glitter markers ran out quicker than I expected (the gray was pretty bad at the end with the rat) so maybe not as much of an upgrade as expected. Maybe because kids already used them? But purple and blue started out really nice looking. This has been my review of Crayola glitter markers.

Color Jam (I got a review copy from @lunarpunk.games) is live on Kickstarter now and I got some glitter markers for my kids bday party so I decided to try a page with those markers! Some were already running out (after being used by kids) but they were really pretty when they worked well!

Last night we played Gulo Gulo (review copy from @pandasaurusgames.com) with only adults! It was super intense! At one point we only had ~10 eggs left in the nest before the alarm fell! This was my first time playing without kids and it was a lot more serious 😆

I got a review copy of Doomensions: Mystery Manor from @mysteriouspackage.bsky.social and I’ve played a couple sections so far. They have a couple new games up on Kickstarter now! The pop-up gimmick is neat, although there’s too many counting puzzles for me. But the theming and story is great!

Finally convinced one of my kids to play Sancastles with me (review copy from @pandasaurusgames.com)! He had fun and then decided to use all the tiles in the game to build his own huge sand castle.

The tiles from the game Sandcastles all put together into a big sandcastle with a bunch of doors, five towers, and balconies. Each tile is a square with sand and different features (windows, starfish, buckets, sky).

Got the upgrade pack for Jisogi: Anime Studio Tycoon a couple days ago so we played it tonight! I like the new rules better but I still don’t like how the network cards can take away the first player marker. I had a small hardworking studio and never managed to completely get out of debt!

Color Jam (review copy from @lunarpunk.games ) is way more of a hit than I expected it to be! I played it with my 6yo kid the other day and today he wanted to play it with my husband and is teaching him! He hasn’t been enjoying many typical board games recently so this is the perfect game for him!

Turns out Color Jam is good for travel too! I brought some midliners and just played a solo game in the hotel. It’s fun and relaxing to just color stuff in, and it’s neat going for mini goals (like trying to get a rainbow thing going in the waterfall area)! @lunarpunk.games

I got a PnP review copy of Color Jam from @lunarpunk.games and tried it out today. Started solo but then one of my kids came and wanted to help me color, and by the end he was helping me choose the colors based on the numbers! We managed to get the picture almost how we wanted!

Finished game of Color Jam - a coloring page that looks like a paint by number type thing, colored in with 6 different colors - yellow, red, purple (the pencil looks blue and I thought it was blue until I colored my first section), green, pink, and brown.

Our next new design was made by my 6yo son and it’s another board game mosaic! He made a rainbow meeple out of meeples and cubes!
