Oh wow, it works. I put in a (refurbished) battery and the SIM from my phone and it just worked! It's not 100% - the front display is a bit messed up, but the internal computer (a 386 running GEOS, would you believe?) is working just fine! And it's THIRTY years old ... 1/3

Apparently it started life as a console, designed by some ex-TI employees (hence the CPU), but then gained BASIC and more memory as it tried to compete in the crowded home micro market in France - without a huge deal of success. Note infrared wireless keyboard. Funky!

Did you know that this year is the 40th birthday of the Commodore 128? One of my favorite computers. I love the look & it can dual boot into CP/M using a 2nd onboard Z-80 processor. Here is a photo of mine en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodo... #commodore #c128 #retrocomputing

For music and Sharp X68000 lovers everywhere... 💜

A Japanese tone library magazine aimed at sound engineers and composers with a white Sharp68000 and monitor on the desk with a ship in a bottle next to it for the extra classiness.

NEW HUBBLE IMAGE OF THE VEIL NEBULA AND IT’S GORGEOUS!!! 🌌✨

A colourful, glowing nebula that reaches beyond the top and bottom of the image. It is made of translucent clouds of gas: wispy and thin with hard edges in some places, and puffy and opaque in others. Blue, red and yellow colours mix together, showing light emitted by different types of atoms in the hot gas. Bright and pointlike stars are scattered across the nebula. The background is black.

I made this Venn diagram like two years ago and it's still on my desktop and I open it and think about it a lot

Morning! Final postcard of the River Tweed from my week away. If you haven’t been to the Scottish Borders, do go. So much to enjoy. Finished writing my book so now for the hard part.
