The US already makes 96% of the N fertilizer we use. The fertilizer we import the most is POTASSIUM. Which we get from CANADA. When we import phosphorus, we get 98% of it from PERU. Not Iran. So the reason we've had trouble getting those is TARIFFS. farmdocdaily.illinois.edu/2025/07/us-f...

Essentially, all Action 5 does is remove the conservation actions that go beyond simply avoidance of jeopardy. That should not be particularly controversial, IMO. One of the actions removed was Fall X2, which both the state and feds agreed to suspend last year when USFWS said it wasn’t effective.
