📢 CA's innovative plan for the Bay-Delta water supply is out for public comment! It would flex for wet and dry years with: More water for rivers and habitat when wildlife and fish need it and less strain on communities’ water in dry times.

50% more drinking water can now go to 108,000 Californians in San Bernardino County thanks to a very low interest loan to the West Valley Water District from the State Water Board. 27M people in 213 communities across CA gained more reliable drinking water to prepare for dry years, since 2018.

The 2nd largest tribal “land back” deal in CA was just funded by the CA State Water Board. Quartz Valley Indian Reservation is receiving a $25M zero-interest loan to purchase 40k acres in the Klamath River Basin. This is State-Tribal partnership in action. shorturl.at/kC9sE

2,000 tons of plastic and other garbage was caught by a trash trap in the Tijuana River over the last 2 years, keeping it out of the Pacific Ocean and off San Diego beaches. The CA Water Boards just funded the trash boom for another year! Learn more: shorturl.at/Y8RKu

On April 29, Joe Karkoski, Deputy Director of the board’s Financial Assistance Division, attended the ribbon cutting of a new PFAS treatment project in Santa Clarita Valley. The board partnered with @scv_water and funded $32M, with $10M of it as a zero-interest loan.

After a major sewage spill impacted Suisun Bay, releasing over 23 million gallons of untreated wastewater, a $5.6 million settlement has been approved by the San Francisco Bay regional water board with Delta Diablo, a wastewater treatment agency serving eastern Contra Costa.

To help families in East Orosi overcome drinking water contaminated with unhealthy levels of nitrates, the State Water Board provided $15 million to connect the town to a safer water system. The new project broke ground on #EarthDay .

50 tons of trash was kept out of the Pacific Ocean & off San Diego beaches during the recent November storm, thanks to the success of the Tijuana River trash booms funded by the State Water Board. The pilot project installed a year ago captures trash from Tijuana that clogs & pollutes the water.
