Would that change if you knew that the store is both charging you to do their work and for the added theft self-checkout enables?

Lecter, a child of Lithuanian and Italian nobility is as well known for his intelligence, refined taste, and impeccable manners as he is for occasionally eating his murder victims.
According to cultural historian Boggs
Hominy, Lecter has complex motivations. "He doesn't just walk around killing random people and eating their livers, although that is something he has enjoyed from time to time with a nice bottle of wine. His victims are not nice people. Perhaps his greatest weakness is that he cares too much, and that he just wants us to be kind to one another."

7 members of the US team are from the same professional team, so they have a huge advantage in terms of playing together over other national teams who also have excellent players.

One of the best medical schools in the country is named after an Epstein co-conspirator. What will it take for Ohio State to part ways with Les Wexner, a man who was named by survivor Virginia Giuffre ten years ago?

Great episode and to comment on just one piece: naming rights contracts typically have reputational/morality clauses. It would be surprising if OSU didn’t have those clauses with Wexner so removing his name is not particularly risky from a litigation standpoint.

Best advertisement I’ve seen so far at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival
Picture of a gray haired woman wearing a shirt that reads on the back “come see my daughter’s film A Woman’s Work at Santa Barbara Film Festival 2/11 at 11:20am 2/12 6:20pm I am a Jewish mother seeking a girlfriend/future wife for my filmmaker daughter (she is multilingual and has an adorable dog). Please inquire with me”

Deutsche Bank, the patsy-in-chief for Trump, just so happens to pump a “moon economy” a couple of days after the perverted conman Musk announces he’s going to pretend to go to the moon instead of pretend to go to mars. Fascinatingly corrupt. Shame on you.

So weird how when one of the MANY white male mass shooters acts one of the first assumptions is that he was bullied but on the EXTREMELY RARE occasion that a shooter is trans not one person asks about bullying - which is actually valid in this case.

Social media makes people lose sight of the point of the proposal sometimes I think (and then ofc there are the ones using public pressure intentionally).

Sure, sure she just dropped out at 14yo 2 years after transitioning just because. Lots of kids do that. 😒 I grew up in rural BC. I find it very, very implausible that a gender non-conforming kid wasn’t subjected to bullying, especially in 2026.
The suspect dropped out of the school four years ago. When asked if the suspect faced bullying "because of the transition from male to female", McDonald says there was no suggestion of this

So much comes down to whether the proposal augments the experience or whether it distracts. But not everyone is good at walking that line.

Would @ucsfmedicine.bsky.social @stanfordmedicine.bsky.social @jhu.edu like to comment about their former faculty being part of an administration which is using a convicted rapist as their mascot? You were warned many times about their misconduct and chose to stay silent. Do you have no shame?

I don’t disagree per se but I think the landscape is shifting. Btw the biz interests getting screwed & the gen dysfunction they can’t hold out forever. Midterms are coming & everyone knows it’ll be a blood bath. My concern is that the inst complicity is a prob best left for later in this process.

Wood fibers run lengthwise, so if the board is made so that the cutting surface is made of ends, your knife will slip between the wood fibers instead of cutting across them (which dulls the knife). End boards are more work to make, which is why they are more expensive.

But the root of the problem is and always has been corruption. Pursuit of personal gain at the expense of the bigger picture. If we are to have any chance of using a tool like AI without destroying ourselves, the corruption has to go. Influential people need to keep their eye on the goddamn ball.

There is virtually no risk of the type of mass replacement he’s vaguely suggesting we need to “prepare” for…whatever that means. I’m not going to get into why I’m so sure of that, but I am. That’s not saying no jobs are at risk or that there aren’t a lot of dangerous ways AI can be implemented. 1/

C'mon Williams Sonoma no one is paying 700 freaking dollars for a cutting board/charcuterie board even if it was designed by Stanley Tucci (unless it is accompanied by a dinner cooked by Mr Tucci) LMAO
The GreenPan Stanley Tucci Cutting board, Olivewood 30" x 19" $699.95

My thought is that with midterms coming up & the daily barrage of failures, there might be receptivity. What do others think? I have already been bringing this up at a state level but I’m curious what folks think elsewhere and as a national strategy. 3/3

I think we need to have congressional hearings on the HHS destruction, specifically the fact that Bhattacharya, Prasad, and Makary were all known to be problems years before their appointments. I have questions for their institutional leadership as to why UCSF, Stanford, and JHU failed to act. 1/

I have no particular problem w Chris in general. He’s one of the better “mainstream” journalists. But he is not an expert on AI & clearly hasn’t talked to enough experts to have more than a very basic understanding. Inciting low information anxiety-ridden behaviour in his audience is not productive.

This is what I told Mark Pletcher (ucsf epi chair) a year ago when the DOGE Nazis were getting outed and Prasad was defending them. Afaic, they already own it. And I think he’s still appointed at UCSF.
You run an organization without accountability, which is why you have staff who disingenuously represent June as "old" and "you couldn't pay me to marry someone outside of my ethnicity, normalize Indian hate" as in "poor taste."
You are going to get sued by a student for discrimination & a hostile learning environment, and I will be cheering for them.

Attached is a tweet of Prasad’s reading: If, every time a reporter unearths someone's old, in-poor-taste social media post, we fired the reporter and not the person, America would be better off

Zero percent shocked.
Prasad is facing several personnel complaints filed against him, including some that involve sexual harassment, retaliation against subordinates and verbally berating staff, people familiar with the matter said. He lives in the San Francisco area and usually commutes to the FDA's Maryland headquarters for several days every two weeks.
Taxpayers pay for his commute, which according to one estimate costs around $65,000 a year, according to an agency document reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.
