I’ve backed them all (except the first one), so that has never been true for me. Just paint as the time and the muse allow. I’m used to bare plastic on the table by now. Painted figures are a treat!

No doubt. Even with my “grey stone” idea I still have so many Targa enemies to paint. The perils of owning everything for this blessed games (multiples of things, in some cases). Guess I’ll never die with all the unpainted models.

Nice! My headcanon is that all of the technology in Targa is made from grey stone, so that’s the look I went with. Glad we agree that at least one of the keys should be green.

Good memory brought on by Ted Lasso: When I was a teenager waiting up for the goth show on our local college radio station, the show preceding it would close with “Enjoy Yourself (It’s Later Than You Think)” by the Specials. So hearing it on the credits tonight made me expect goth music next.

It’s a pretty kickass life when a miniature painting project starts as a desire to emulate New Jersey from Buckaroo Banzai, but then pivots to Cowboy Curtis from Pee Wee’s Playhouse due to a technical difficulty, and the resulting model is even better than hoped. Extra Life is gonna be stylin’.

And Satisfactory is just a marvelous game. It weirdly is therapeutic for me too. Optimizing the factory, working on improved builds, it makes my brain feel good. After describing it to my therapist she actually recommends I play it when stressed and overwhelmed. Can’t argue with that.

Fallout: New Vegas is where My love of sandbox games really gelled. Where I figured out that I could just ignore the plot and wander around doing stupid things. It’s where the MATT DAMON Str 10 Int 1 game was born and perfected.

Wild Arms is a game I tested while I worked for Sony, and the opening animation and theme live rent-free in my head. I always dug the wild west fantasy of the setting, and wish I had a good way to play it again. Would be fun to do a stream series of it.

Civilization II was an obsession for my friend group in high school. The old hot seat multiplayer is how we wasted so many afternoons. When we figured out how to edit the text of the game it became a whole new thing for us. It was fantastic!

TIE-Fighter is not only an amazing flight sim and Star Wars tale, but um, was also the first game I ever pirated online. Multiple disks at 14.4k bps. I have since bought the game on multiple platforms.

Out Of This World was the most stunning looking game I had ever seen when it came out. It felt like playing in a comic boom, and the graphics did amazing things. I was really bad at it, but it was the first game I ever beat.

Alone in the Dark is where I first encountered game polygons and the Cthulhu mythos. I only played the game without sound on my old computer, and I think that enhanced the terror of it. This lead to playing Call of Cthulhu, and ultimately, the Shadows of Brimstone obsession.
